It is a new set, I ordered mine from their web site
 
Eric use to collect legos a child. we had boxes and totes of them all around the house till he finally sold them off a year ago. (he hadn't used or played with them in years)

The kids and I never really got into them. Kai played with the jumbo ones as a toddler.. but they were not his favorite thing.. guess i am lucky i haven't stepped on a million legos ? I heard those things heard like a B*tch
 
Chance dabbled in them briefly, but it didn't last long. Neither of my older kids ever got in to them at all. And as for me, no way, not even remotely relaxing :giggle. Just thinking about Legos gives me anxiety. I don't like all the little pieces and have absolutely no patience for putting them together :giggle

It wasn't as bad as I thought. My kid was 6, so I had him sort by color and size - all the 1x2's, all the 2x4's etc. Then it was pretty easy to bag into kits.

Or: have you seen rebrickable? Put in the sets you own, and it will give you a whole bunch of new things, and some other sets, that you can build! It's really cool.

LEGO family here. Right now my 6,7, 10 & 11 year old play with them diligently. My boys especially love them. Beside KEVA blocks and trains it's pretty much the only toys my boys have. My hubby actually just built them a big shelf in their room so they could display some of their special sets. They like sets but they also like coming up with their own creations.
