Giving Anne a run for her money with the longest Pad Patter title in history i think but from the look of the gallery, i'm suspicious that all of you have finished Christmas shopping waaay early this year, and i'm the only one not scrapping this weekend away.

Are you done, wrapped and dusted or are you doing some last minute shopping and crazy wrapping like me?
(Yes, a week left on the Advent countdown is my personal definition of last minute)

One store i went in to today, i was the only person and 2 sales people came straight up to me and i was like 'it is the last weekend before xmas, right? i thought you'd be packed with people'. One section of Sydney is in lockdown but i didn't even have to worry about following the social distancing arrows on the floor around in there! The car park suggested there were a lot of people in other stores though

I am still waiting on one package to arrive and I'm not sure it's going to make it. I ordered it on the 8th, it says it was shipped on the 15th, but no updated tracking. I also need to run to one small business here in town and grab a few things to make gift baskets for my sister and her family. I have a couple of small things left to wrap and then I will be done, hopefully by tomorrow.

I'm pretty much done. Just have to wrap my gifts for my employees. Waiting on one gift for hubby to arrive. But it's a subscription club so even if the first month doesn't arrive - I can make a cute card/post card and wrap it to explain the gift.

Since I work in a hospital and family is not close at all - we are not going any where and no-one is coming here. I just kept it simple this year and have $$ and gift cards to gift to extended family ... that will all be done via email/electronically.

The good news is we were approved to get the vaccine at my hospital this week - Wed and yesterday many of the staff and providers rec'd the vaccine, no adverse reactions at all. I'm getting it next week!

We wrapped gifts on and off all day yesterday. Everything is done except for what the kids and I are giving to DH. His birthday is tomorrow so there is sort of a pool of gifts to sort out between that and Christmas. And I realized last night that the birthday wrap supplies are in a tub under the guest bed that is currently entirely surrounded by boxes from the Christmas decorations. :duh

I still need to do a little stocking stuffer shopping to fill in some gaps, but I think I'm done other than that. I'm sure it will still feel like a scramble on Christmas Eve. It always does somehow, no matter how prepared I think we are. :giggle

I just had 3 gift cards to get. DH and I do not exchange as we get what we want during the year and we really don't need anything more anyway. I just like the tree up and watching the holiday movies, sending and getting cards and then having our traditional Christmas Eve Snacks and Christmas Day dinner. To me, us being together and watching our favorite movies of "It's a Wonderful Life" on Christmas Eve and spending time together is all we need. I did buy a few things on line though that we needed and they came real quick.

No gifts to wrap here.

I did buy Peyton a new toy but since it is sitting under a tabletop tree, she can't see it so why wrap it. I'm not even sure I even have paper anymore since I haven't had gifts to wrap for quite a few years.

We are pretty much done. DH did almost all the shopping early and online. For Christmas, it has been an easy one!

That's great news!

Wonderful!! My son (Paramedic) got it Thursday and said it went really well for him! We are supposed to be able to get it sometime around the end of January, fingers crossed!

I made the mistake of going in a store for last minute things and came out with way too many haha hopefully they all fit in the stockings because I don't want to wrap them!

I need to wrap but I did all my shopping online and one trip to Winners. We are not buying tons of stuff this year, we're making less money, don't really need much and it feels good to not break the bank to get shopping done. We'll hand out some GC's later to extended family when we are able to visit but who knows when that will be.

Today hubs will bake, I will wrap and food plan. Glad there's no more shopping to be done, the traffic is crazy around here (we are 3 blocks from a large mall).

I try very hard to avoid shopping on the weekend unless it is before 9 am or after 9 pm so while I do need to pick up some stocking stuffers, I'll wait until Sunday or Monday evening. Well, technically, I do need to pick up something for my nephew (gift card), my BIL (Little Debbie unicorn cakes -- no kidding!), and my aunt (some kind of Christmas doodad) but the big important have-to-be-ordered gifts are ready to go.

It's amazing what happens when you actually make enough money to pay your bills AND have some leftover so my shopping was done earlier than it's ever been before, and I think everyone will like their gifts, too! The kids are getting Switches (and not even second-hand or an older generation/version) and they think they're so expensive that they didn't even ask Santa for them (let alone me) and they are going to be S-H-O-O-K when they open them Christmas morning! I can't wait.

I have this dilemma for my DS, some years I end up unwrapping &re-wrapping things on Xmas eve trying to balance what he gets on Xmas & then a few days later for his b'day

that is currently entirely surrounded by boxes from the Christmas decorations
This describes my laundry, the washing machine is behind several tubs that I keep wheeling around for the duration of Dec!

I love Xmas gifts or any gifts for pets. We should have done a small table top tree this year in hindsight. Our big one was already up when the new birds came & it's been covered in a big pale yellow blanket since (so it's one less thing to crash into) & it looks more like a giant Harry Potter sorting hat than a tree.
New fish tank ornaments & 'enrichment ' things for the birds seem to scare them more for the first week at least, unless it's a food they know - does Peyton get excited about 'new stuff's or is it all a bit scary at first?

I am both impressed & jealous that you're DH did the hard yards! I think my DH is usually as surprised as the kids with what they unwrap every Xmas & b'day!

Crap! I forgot that I still need to run out for stocking stuffers LOL
Thanks for the reminder!!
I need to invest in bigger stockings or sacks so there's less time intensive dragging everything out, the actual wrapping & the hiding again!

Yes I'm definitely seeing value in upgrading to bigger stockings!
