It's the last week of school here and we finish up on Friday. Soooo early! They moved our last day forward since we didn't have any snow days this year.

When is your last day? Are you ready?

I am pretending that I am ready! :giggle

I so wish it was our last week of school, but... my daughter doesn't get out until June 12th and my son doesn't get out until June 19th. So we're still in the midst of all of the end of year recitals, concerts, drama performances, sports banquets, etc.

We homeschool and do so year round, but we wind down around this time of year... we continue on with reading, math and journal writing... that seems totally manageable in the summer. We are pretty hard core from Sept-May though. Its nice to have this break!

The last day of school here is June 26th, so we've got more than a month to go. And school will be interfering with the FIFA Women's World Cup soccer that is taking place in Western Canada in June, so it will be interesting juggling kids activities, exams and getting out to a few of the games.

Friday is our last day as well. This week is filled with parties (for littles), finals (for bigs), and awards ceremonies for all.

In fact, today is our last full day... wed, thurs, fri are all 1/2 days.

I think I'm ready. I'm certainly ready for no homework or strict bedtimes. Not quite as ready to give up my 2 days at home alone, hehe. Ah well... I love my kids. I love my kids. I love my kids (chanting to myself) :giggle

We're in until the 3rd, but I'm definitely looking forward to the lazy days of sleeping in and staying up late.. Playing outside until after sundown (which is still getting later and later).. all kinds of fun things.. :) That said, this is my first summer as a SAHM, so I'm a little anxious about filling the time for my boys, but we'll figure something out, I'm sure. ;)

This is our last week as well. I'll be up at school everyday this week with awards, picnics, parties, etc. So crazy how busy it gets right at the end. I'm ready for summer, though - especially for sleeping in!

The high school students are finished June 23rd and then I am done June 26th.

On the other side of things my youngest graduates from Univ of WA June 12. And he's staying in Seattle he hopes. Since he is trying to find a job he probably won't be coming home much this summer. Last year he was home for a few weeks. Going to be our first truly empty nest summer.

We won't be done school here until June 26th... A little over a month away and my kids can't wait!

Pre-K ends this Friday, but graduation is next Friday (29th). I'm trying to figure out how to keep from crying during graduation.

But I'm ready for big exciting things in Kindergarten next year, and I'm tired of the attitude of one of the teachers he has now, so bring on summer. I'm prepping things to do during the summer months to keep little mister on track and ready for school in the Fall.

We finish June 12 and I am soooo ready! Of course I have a million and one things to do between now and then, but I'm ready nonetheless. It was supposed to be the 9th, but we're adding 3 days to make up snow days.

My kids are only in daycare. ... no school for them....yet.
I hated summer vacation as a kid. It's hotter than blazes here in AZ. I begged for year round school so that I had cold AC at school and something to do. (My mom wouldn't turn the AC any lower than 80!)

Wow, those out this week, that seems so early! Here the last day is June 5. They mixed our 2 allotted bad weather days into the spring semester this year, so it doesn't impact our last day. (They would have had extra holidays if they hadn't needed the make-up days.) We actually had 3 bad weather cancellations, but I guess they decided to waive the 3rd one. There was one year that the last day of school was a half day on a Monday. I'm guessing attendance probably wasn't very close to 100%. :giggle

As far as being ready, I am ready to start getting more sleep! I am always sleep deprived pretty much the entire school year. :yawn We don't have much planned for the summer yet other than a theater camp for DD and a not yet scheduled road trip to visit family. Last summer flew by really quickly. I probably should start figuring out stuff for the kids to do or it will be back-to-school again before I know it! LOL

I am not sure what I am more jealous of Laura....the fact that you are done with school this Friday, or the fact that you had NO SNOW DAYS!!! We acutally got pushed back 2 days, and now will be finishing up on June 4. We are close, but I swear the teachers try to cram in a years worth of field trips and projects in the last 3 weeks. :(

I actually felt guilty when I wrote that part. I almost added sorry to my friends in Chicagoland + parts north, as well as Boston! LOL

We are in the same boat with the cramming though. I was talking to Sara about this today. Both of our elementary kids are having science units packed into last 2 weeks of school. Julia's class started a magnet unit yesterday. :dizzy
Once again, I have to admit to feeling like it's #commoncorefail

We will be out at 11:30 on Thursday - I am ready for a break from the crazy (only to be traded for the crazy of summer!). We will be back in on the first Monday of August, so I am sure it will fly!

It's my last day of semester on June 4th then I have an exam on June 15th - have about 5 weeks off before my final semester
