Kids.....

Human, Fur or another kind? Humans (we have 2 doves as well)

How many do you have? three

Age differences between them? I had my first two 14 months apart back in 1990 and 1991 then 13 years later I had my last.

Personality differences? The oldest is the one that HAS to have friends and it takes alot to teach her a lesson, and shes not a very good judge of people. Shes had a rough time the past 5 years for this reason. Middle one is compassionate, likes to try and help people, philosophical. Both are adults. Youngest is mature in some ways (hes a great judge of a person and knows when situations should be avoided) but is a baby in other ways (holds our hands in the parking lot and needs us alot) he is an "old soul", witty, very blunt, cautious, He is our only child to be diagnosed as having autism, but the oldest more than likely has it as well. If you looked up their zodiacs, they are JUST like their signs describe!

Do they get along? yes

How did you pick their names? Brittany Catherine: Brittany ( I liked it, no one else had it in 1990 LOL) Catherine (after my grandmother born in 1912)
Andre` Glenn: Andre`(I liked it. Was supposed to be spelled like the Russian "Andrei", but they put it down wrong) Glenn (hubbys dads name. He died 2 weeks before our sons birth)
Elijah Cole (This name has been in my family as far back as 1772. I was told at a family party by a psychic that an old soul wanted back in our family. I was doing genealogy and found this mans name and other family with the name and just felt id have a son IF we were to have an other baby, but this was never even thought of. Years went by and id say "IF we have Elijah" we would buy this or that. So we decided to try one month then not again. It worked, and we had Elijah. I even knew what he would look like! It was weird! The weirdest thing was I sent for the civil war military records of Elijah and my other 5th great grandfather and my son has two birthmarks in the same spots these men were shot in the battles of Vicksburg and Antietam! Weird!!!)

Human, Fur or another kind? Only human
How many do you have? 3
Age differences between them? Hubby is counted in this number, the children are 2 years in between.
Personality differences? The eldest is more introvert and overthinking, the youngest social and outcoming.
Do they get along? Yes, they do.
How did you pick their names? We heard Mathieus name when we were on our first holidays together and kept it in our heads. Maxim just felt right, there simply was no other name...

Human, Fur or another kind? Both

How many do you have? 2 human 2 fur 29 yo boy and 25 yo girl 12 yo golden retriever and 8 yo cat

Age differences between them? 4 years and 1 month exactly

Personality differences? Son used to be more intense but is laid back now. Daughter used to be laid back and is more intense now.

Do they get along? Yes. Daughter is planning her wedding and asked her brother to be her Man of Honor.

How did you pick their names? Kevin was named after husband's best friend from childhood. I wanted my children to have the same initials so when daughter came along I needed a name that started with K. My name was Catherine Kim but I have always gone by Kim so when I got married I dropped Catherine and kept my maiden name as my middle name. So I named her Kathryn -- so she is sort of named after me. She is Kathryn or Kat. She is NOT Kathy or Katie or Kate. She is very specific about this. (I said she was more intense).

We always adopt our fur babies and just use name they already have.

Human, Fur or another kind? only the human kind in this house :)

How many do you have? we have 3 boys

Age differences between them? there are 18 months between our oldest and middle son, 3 years and 7 months between our middle and youngest, and just over 5 years between our oldest and youngest.

Personality differences? Victor (12, oldest) is super chill, kinda quiet, likes to joke around and be silly a lot, very meticulous and organized, Dillan (10 - 11 in October, middle) is loud, full of one-liners, hilarious, intense, messy, always dancing, artistic and tenderhearted, Micah (7, youngest) is very outgoing, gets along with everyone, makes friends easily, isn't bothered by what other people think of him, easygoing, a rule follower. All of the boys are athletic as heck!

Do they get along? they have their moments :giggle

How did you pick their names? Victor is named after my husband and my father-in-law. Our kids have 2 middle names. Victor's middle names are Xavier Alexander. We wanted strong, masculine names that went with Victor and I feel like we nailed it lol He was the easiest child to name. Victor Xavier Alexander.

Dillan was actually going to be named Isaiah, but a family friend had her son a couple of months before Dillan was born and she named him Isaiah, so it was back to the drawing board for us. DH and I went through a baby name book, wrote down all of the names we liked, narrowed it down to those we agreed on and then chose Dillan from the list. His middle names are Isaiah Corbett. Corbett is after a town here in Oregon that DH and I just love :) Dillan Isaiah Corbett.

Micah is a name that I have loved forever, it was on the short list of names DH and I could agree on, AND it isn't super common. Just FYI, it's pronounced MIKE-uh, not MEEK-uh lol His middle names are Noah Jacoby. Noah was a contender for his first name, but it was becoming quite popular (I seriously knew of 4 other Noah's being born around the same time), so we decided it would work as a middle. We were stuck on a second middle name for him though. A couple of months before he was born, DH, my sister and I went to a Papa Roach concert -- I LOVE Papa Roach -- and the lead singer, Jacoby Shaddix, came out into the crowd during the show. He was singing, walking through the crowd and high fiving people. He ended up high fiving me and I almost died on the spot lol I turned to DH and we both said, "His other middle name is Jacoby!" So yes, we named our kid after a rock star :yourock Micah Noah Jacoby.

Weird!!!)

What an amazing story!

Human, Fur or another kind? Human, I think... sometimes I do wonder.

How many do you have? 2 of my own, one girl, Melody and one boy, Bellamy. One that belongs to my mother and one that belongs to my mother-in-law.

Age differences between them? My two are 7 1/2 and 1 1/2 it is a lovely gap for the most part.

Personality differences? Melody and Bellamy are very similar and very different at the same time. Melody was always very independent and outgoing as a baby, Bellamy is independent but so clingy to me (I can't be out of his sight at all). Melody was always very gentle, Bellamy on the other hand, bites, hits, pinches, headbutts.
But they are both creative, both friendly and loving, both so freaking smart, both funny, and they can both throw a tantrum like you wouldn't believe (and people don't because they are angels in public!)

Do they get along? Yes, and no. They love each other so much, but Bellamy gets on Melody's nerves because of baby things like ripping up her paper and getting all the toys out after she put them away, all the usual stuff.

How did you pick their names?
Melody Rachel - We couldn't pick a boys name. At all. So we really REALLY hoped we were having a girl (and we found out as soon as we could and yay!) We had a couple of girls names, they all seemed to start with M, Molly was high on the list. I was watching The Little Mermaid 2, and Ariel's baby's name was Melody and we just knew that was the name. Her middle name came so quickly after that, Melody Rachel. Rachel was for one of our closest friends from school.
Bellamy Vincent - Before I even took the test to see if I was pregnant, I knew, and I had a strong feeling that it was a boy. And he made sure we knew that he was a boy, showed it off like crazy at the ultrasound, it was a good thing we wanted to know!
Bellamy was "Made in the USA" (LOL!) and we wanted to pick a name to go with that, but nothing fit, and we were stuck.
We had always planned to name our first boy after Jamie grandfather Vincent, but Melody had a Vinnie in her class who was a pain in the butt so I couldn't do it and the name got pushed to middle name.
Our other requirement was that it end in the 'ee' sound because we accidentally started a trend when we named Melody. My name is Christie, hubby's name is Jamie, and then we had Melody, so we couldn't very well name the baby, I don't know, Steve.
Then one day we were watching The 100, and I joked that we should call the baby Bellamy (for those who don't know, he is a strong male lead in the show). We laughed it off, especially because that would mean we got both of our kids names from characters from tv. But then it just stuck, it worked and we loved it. We know a lot of people don't like it, and we have had a lot of "that is a girls name", but we brush it off, and if he doesn't like it when he is older he can change it, or go by Vincent if he wants to, but we love our Bellamy.

@jesskab we used to get asked all the time if we named him after Matthew Broderick...oy! My bio-dad calls him Broderick Crawford EVERY TIME without fail, when he sees him. I have no idea who that is...lol

Oh I have just loved reading about all your kids <3

I used to love pondering names, even as a teenager, so I'd spent a lot of time considering possibilities and making lists.
Me too!! I had a bunch of names picked out because I figured when I got married hubby might not like some and he might have siblings etc who have the same name, and I wanted our kids to be different. Little did I know that most of the girl names and a couple of boys names on my list would be taken up by my hubby's family. He is part of a big ol' blended family with 9 children ranging in ages from (when we married) 40 to 20, and they all had kids too. Here it goes: Michelle (sister), Tanya (sister), Todd (brother), Adam (brother, actually 2 brothers), Alisha (niece), Tayla (niece), Mitchell (nephew), Oliver (nephew), Ella (niece). Phew, I think that is all.
Hubby's parents are now sitting at 9 kids, 26 grandkids and almost 2 great grandkids! No wonder they are ca-razy!

Interesting questions...

Human, Fur or another kind?
Human - two grown men, although somewhere back there they were babies, then boys... Live close but independent from us.

Fur - One crazy cat. Two before Monday, but we had to have our beloved Lucy put down. She was over 15 ( old lady for a cat) - he is younger, but not by that much. I think I may be looking forward to the empty pet nest soon.

I also have two grand dogs, three grand cats and maybe a grand child on the way... Order of birth, not favouritism implied.

Age differences between them?
my sons are 4 yrs apart. Come to think of it so were my cats. My first son decided to only sleep about ten minutes in every hour around the clock after he was born, and I swore I would not have another child before he slept through the night. Took almost three point five years.

Personality differences?
Yes. Where Alex never slept, Jason came along and slept 11 hrs straight from week one. We prayed Alex would sleep and we watched over Jason praying he was ok because he slept so much...

They are still totally different. Alex is darker with the lovely creamy Greek olive skin. He is analytical and precise, serious to a fault, competitive, driven. Everything must be perfect. He is impatient but extremely sensitive and kind. He is the proud Aries, he is also the Horse in Chinese astrology, a proud hard worker, compliment to my own fierce silver tiger. His size and shape take after my husband, five eleven, low center of gravity like a football defensive line. He is extremely athletic and physically strong. However, even though he has my husbands family's physical characteristics, he wears my face. He is charming and handsome in a dark rugged hockey player way. I love my sons equally, but in spirit, ideology, and shared confidences, Alex is most like me and we are very close friends.

Jason is the artist. Flights of fancy. The boy wonder who will reinvent the universe. He is an Aquarius. He is so alike in build and looks to my father, sometimes it is scary. My children, who barely knew my parents, have convinced me of genetic memory. If you watch Jason walk or talk - he is his grandfather. He has my family's complection of Northern Europe, fair and freckled. Tall, he is 6 ft 5 inches. He is a natural salesman, charming to a fault, gifted in music and art, more ethereal and imaginative than his brother. He inherited the engineering gene from my husband's side. The men in that family can take apart anything, fix it and put it back together better than ever. Jason does this with an imaginative creativity.
He confides in me, but his comfort zone is in sharing stuff is with his father in their shared business and opinions in life.

Do they get along?
Yes and no. Sometimes. Mostly. They have different personalities and different directions in life. They share many friends acquired growing up, yet they have many friends each, that the other doesn't get along with. I always opened my door and heart to any and all of their friends, assuming it was better to know who they were with and what they were doing. They had and have the same great friends since they were so small. It's given me the privilege of watching many of their friends grow up and still have them at my dinner table for holiday celebrations, alone or with wives and children... as men. It's a blessing and a strange curse. if there is sadness or strife as they navigate life, I worry and wish I could fix, but understand I cannot always change things.

The one thing I can say is that we are a very close devoted family in the ways that I think truly count. We may disagree and yell and claim we won't speak to each other ever again, but, if one brother is in trouble, the other will move heaven and earth to make things right. If one brother needs help, emotionally, financially, whatever the other will step into the breach and do whatever possible to mend.

We fight, we argue, we disagree with that Greek passion I have learned to admire, but we are always ready and willing to step into the fire for each other.

How did you pick their names?
Finally an easy question, and, sort of, strange family history.. I was told when I planed my wedding (after I was baptized into the Greek Orthodox Church) that a first born son is always named after the father's father, if a girl, after the father's or mother's mother... Hence, first son is Alexandros.

Most female converts are baptized into the Greek Orthodox Church as Maria after the Virgin, but I chose my fathers's mother's name of Helen as I was the first girl in my family and it was appropriate to pick the name of my father's mother. This was before I knew anything of my future children or how I had to name them. Elenie or Helen is my legal name although I don't use it except with my Greek family.

Remember, Helen of Troy, and Helen the mother of Alexander the Great. Alexander was my husbands father's name so Alex for my first born seemed not only auspicious, but an easy choice.

Second born if girl would have been Laura for my mother, or Katherine for his mother and/or (strangely my sister who bears this name only because my own parents let me name her)..

No girl in site for five generations in my husbands family, so 2 was a boy and should have been named for my father, but the Welsh name (Nevin) did not sound so good with Zenebisis, so we went back to Ancient Greece. His name on his birth certificate is Iason, pronounced E'yason, as in the story of Iason and the Goldn Fleece, most of you know as Jason and the Golden Fleece. We call him J. And his name and the quest he seems to have chosen in life fit the ancient history.

Sorry to be so long winded, but you asked...

I loved reading this!! I had no idea about these traditions. It was so interesting, thank you for sharing!!

She's taken to headbutting me or pawing at my face to get me to pay attention to her.

omg, it is wonderful isn't it! lol! Mine youngest does the same. I often get up in the morning with a headache! My eldest is terrifying when we are sleeping. She will sit right beside our bed and wait for us to wake up to see her staring at us. There have been a few near misses, I've very nearly smacked her and kicked her before!

And Dave came from Petco with his name. My grandma had changed it to Buddy, but we preferred Dave so we went back to that when we took him over.

Cat named Dave is about the best thing ever! <3 <3

Do they get along? They did not when they were young. When Becky was born, Krissy was screaming in the hospital to send her back. "No Becky!! No Becky!!! I hate that baby!" For years, Becky tried and tried to get her sister to like her, and finally when Krissy got divorced 2 years ago is when they finally started hanging out together. Go figure!

I had to giggle a bit imagining that! Poor wee thing!! I vividly remember when my sister was born we each got a really cool toy to play with (I got a totally cool Polly Pocket! Woo hoo!!). I wonder now if it was so that we liked our baby sister, hmmm!

How did you pick their names? Krissy is Kristine Nicole, after the first baby that my husband delivered in the back of an ambulance. At the time, he was a paramedic. I thought it was a nice name and it fit the requirements of something my Dad used to tell us - "Never name your kids something you'd be embarrassed to yell out the door at dinnertime!"

Yes! I read and was told that too! We did try a couple with our second, they were all names we weren't going to use though and it was fun to do them in the voices from movies that use the name, like "HARRY POTTER!" haha!

We went through a ton we liked but couldn't agree on. Samuel was the winner. My DH jokes that he was named after his favorite beer (Samuel Adams), but that was NOT the case.

Oh that is funny!! To this day my sister-in-law tells people that we chose Melody's middle name (Rachel) after her. No, just no. Absolutely not!

hubby has a smooth skin one & raises fruit flies for him/her

It took me a second to click what you were talking about and then I laughed! Very VERY cool pet!

I forgot the biggest difference between my two. This is Melody (left) and Bellamy (right) just before their 1st Birthdays. Melody is totally her Dad's girl with the chocolate hair and eyes and the tan skin, and Bellamy is like all the babies on my side with the light skin, blue eyes and white blonde hair, though we have all gotten brown hair as we got older. Polar opposites! And Melody was a chubby little thing whereas Bellamy is a lot skinnier.

Christie, I have a pair of opposites too! Brody has brown hair & pale skin, Jamie has blonde hair & honey colored skin. They both have dark brown eyes though. The funny thing is, hubby is Guatemalan & very dark brown with black hair. My mom is Mexican & dad New Zealander, & I'm pretty fair. The kids aren't anywhere near hubby's color. We have a running joke where I say "Well, we always knew I was the dominant one in this relationship". He's seriously been asked a few times if he's their babysitter. :giggle Genetics are funny.

Haha! I like that better than what I get. My in-laws constantly say there must have been something going on with the milk man. It's funny once, but then move on please! Besides one of hubby's sisters is as blonde as blonde and her youngest and my little boy are so similar! It's in their side of the family as much as mine. I do love my pigeon pair in all their opposite-ness :heartlub

So I compromised and named her Olivia after Olivia de Havilland, who played Melanie in Gone With The Wind.

I was just telling my sister about this the other day when it was Olivia de Havilland's 100th Birthday. I told her that I had a designer friend who had an Olivia named after that Olivia and that your screen name is gonewiththewind and I'm sure you once said that "Fiddle-Dee-Dee" designs came from GWTW too. <3
I promise I'm not a stalker :lol

I wont answer now as I had a HUGE argument with her the other night .... and even though I know this, like all else, will pass..... I[m tempted to say she is no human, no furry...just a one cel made of selfishness!!!!!!!
:hairpol:imok:furious:overreact:sense

I took the iPad away from her...so you know is serious :rofl I can laugh at it anyway!!!! :rofl

Yolanda....you do know Sarita is 20 years old, right?

Human, Fur or another kind? I have three human, one angel and one fur

Age differences between them? Bianca is my oldest, she is 12 .
Kai is my middle and he is 10. And my baby is Asia she will be 8 on the 14th of July. Neelix the poochie, is 6 months.

Personality differences? Bianca is in that pre-teen state.. she is extremly too mature for her age and is often mistaken for older than she is. She is quite musical and a huge animal lover. She is very vocal and will talk your ear off. Wants to be part of the popular crowd, but is a nerd at heart.

Kai has special needs (Autism, speech Apraxia, Sensory Needs... and a pancerus disorder.) He is quite shy, scared of crowds, doesn't talk much, doesnt make friends easy and prefers hanging out with adults more than children his age. He is very active and loves playing sports (plays on a 7th and 8th grade team at only 4th grade!!)... runs like forest gump and loves anything car or WWE related.

Asia aka Doodle is very talkative. She has sensory needs like her brother, She is very active and loves stuffed animals and little pet shops. She is very clingy to her mommy or nana. She is quite small for her age and is often mistaken for a lot younger due to her behaviors. HUGE meat fan.. and one of the only kids I know who hates mac and cheese!

Neelix the dog, is a ball of monsterish fuz.. he is growing quickly and at 6 months is already 70 lbs!! he is as smart as a whip and just as stuborn. He loves to play at the dog park and is a pro hole digger. Neelix is a bone addict...He is my service dog and is learning to alert me to vertigo attacks, sounds such as alarms or knocks on door and helping with counter balancing me when I am off balance. He also fetches help, medication and dropped items!

Do they get along?
For the most part they get along.. they are all very protective of eachother and while they fight they play together well as well. and well.. Neelix loves everyone

How did you pick their names? Bianca Rose was named off of All my children, only girls name my ex and I aggreed on...her middle name is mine as well, Rose.

Kai Raven was named after a bouncer at a bar and a friend of mine.. it was actually the boys name we had picked for Bianca if she had been a boy, we both LOVED the name.. and his middle name Raven went well with his first name .. Kai means fire is Scottish and raven is the bird of fire.

Asia Rae.. was kinda .. well out of the blue. We did not want a common name for our kids. We had Isabella picked out for her, but it made the top ten list.. so we were coming up with names one night and I liked Ava.. but my ex hated it.. so I joked about Asia...oddly enough the next morning Bianca came running in to the kitchen.."mommy I got a name for the baby, how about Asia?"....she heard it on the Disney chanel and liked it.. ... after that it kinda stuck. Rae came form a combo of my ex's name Raymond...and my twin sister who died at birth Teri Rae.

Neelix Chomper..is named after Star Trek Voyger's Neelix.. my fiancee Eric and I are both mega nerds.. *L* and huge fans..

My angel is heaven is Olivia Katherine (Livy)...she would be 16 now.. driving and going to high school...she was born still in 2000 and not a day passes when I don't think of her. Her chocolate brown eyes and tiny black curls will forever be imprinted on my mind...

Oh Dear Cynthia -- I hope all is well again in your home soon! We never stop parenting! Hugs!

Bwahahahaha @Chippi Christie, I don't think you're a stalker. And yes, Fiddle-Dee-Dee comes from GWTW . . . Scarlett says it like, oh well, la-dee-dah . . . LOL
