You can just never get used to anything with kids around. Last night, I sent my little lion (face painted at Kindergarten for the Fasching celebrations) to brush his teeth and wash the paint off his face. Suddenly, he starts crying and big sis runs in to see what's wrong. The site: a tear-streaked, lion face with blood pouring out of his mouth. Great. at 7pm on a Thursday. Get him calmed down, rinse mouth, wash off paint and then find a flashlight and have a look. ::shudder:: did YOU know that molars can cause big chunks of gum to peel away from your mouth and hang in a bloody, pus-filled mass? Yuck. Thanks to the late hour, we couldn't do anything else and we're off to the dentist today at 11:30 to have it removed. Poor kid. And Happy Friday!
Ewwwwwww! Never a dull moment!! I think if I'd read a "True Stories from the Battlefront" about having kids I probably wouldn't have had any.
So the dentist looked him over and after asking me how long he'd had it (really? Like I look way back in his mouth on a regular basis?!) started slicing it off. When he said it was hurting, he got the numbing shot (that needle is huge). I think I was more freaked than him. Poor thing, those molars are literally erupting. We both survived and he got a treat at the bakery after. Yes, our dentist is,literally located right above our bakery!
aww poor little guy, glad the bakery treat helped make him feel better though ... I hate dentists! *shiver*
