Are your kids dressing up for Halloween? As what?

I am going as Little Red Riding Hood and my son is going to be the Big Bad Wolf. I am making his costume.

we are a dress up family! I start buying costumes as soon as I see them at thrift stores...and well, we wear them for a good month! My youngest two boys played on the trampoline for 2 hours with muscle bound spidermans saturday, and by the time halloween comes, they will be 3 or 4 more things...
halloween is for the candy and they know it! lol

I need to start hitting the thrift stores too. Bianca wants to be wonder woman. I will be making that one, but I want to get her a few super hero ones for her to play "dress up".

We do costumes and then they go into the dress up drawer for play. My youngest wants to be a my little pony and I am not impressed with any of the store-bought costumes that I have seen on-line. I'm thinking about trying to make one using a solid colored hoodie and sweat pants - maybe sew on a mane/ears on the hood and tail on the pants??

I received two garbage bags full of costumes from a friend of mine this summer. Her son is 13 and didn't need/want them anymore, so my boys are going to be something from those bags! :) Probably pirates... there was a lot of cool pirate stuff in there.

we dont really do it here,we are away the weekend before and i think there celebrating it there so i will go out and dress them up this year for that

I was all excited to talk costumes with my boys, but turns out they want to be what they were last year again this year... Which is less work for me, so I should be excited, I guess...
My dream is for Keaton to be Max and Ollie to be a Wild Thing... I should probably start making the costume now and I might have it ready for 2014!

DS is getting a Storm Trooper costume for his birthday next week, so he will probably be that. DD wants to be a cowgirl. I will have to make her a vest and buy her a hat, but all the rest we can make do with stuff around the house.

I just talked my MIL into helping me make this year's costumes. DD wants to be Little Dead Riding Wolf from Monster High and DS wants to be trigger happy from Skylanders. I'm dressing up as Queen Amidala, I already have the dress, just need to make my headpiece

Well, my youngest son just announced that he wants to be Dexter from Dexter's Laboratory this year. So, ummm, I think I am going to have to try and make him one like that because I doubt I will be able to get one since that cartoon has been off the air for years.

Ok, got Bianca's blue pants and red shirt... now I need to stitch some stars on those pants and do the WW logo for the shirt.. the lasso, the crown, the belt, and spray paint the boots.

We are doing a train conductor for my son and Twilight Sparkles from My Little Pony for my daughter. Seth's will be easy peasy...Maddie's I have all planned out but it's gonna take me a while to finish.

Argh! I haven't even thought about it really. My girls are saying they all want to be a different Strawberry Shortcake character. Not sure if I am going to "allow" that or convince them to be something else.

a variety of things whilst she was growing up, dressing up (both of us, by the way) until she was 15....
at almost 18, she doesn't feel like going trick or treating, anbd there are not enough kids leftr in the estate that aren't Muslim (don't think the parents let them go out as I haven't had anyone knocking on the door past 2 years)

but the past 5 years or so we did different versions of Wicked caracheters... I'm abiout to dugg out my avatar as Elphaba,
it was a memorable Halloweeen, 2008!!!!

Well let's see...
Joshua wants to be Spiderman again this year... I may have to make some adjustments on the old costume since he sprouted up about 4 inches since last Halloween, or go buy a new one.
Isabelle wants to be a peacock... and my creative mind is going wild with ideas. Pinterest is a big help with inspiration, but the realist in me is bookmarking the premade peacock costumes. :giggle

My 7 yo has decided that she and her little sister will be milk and cookies. She had a vision of herself as the cookie and her sister as a glass of milk, but a little googling and we decided she would be a carton of milk and her sister will be the cookie. The girls are really excited and luckily, I have my crafty mom to make it happen. We're aiming for something like this (we'll see how awful it looks when we're done, LOL!)

My kids dress up every year, and I generally buy their costumes either at kid's consignment clothing stores, or I buy stuff on clearance after Halloween is over. My boys either dress up like superheroes, the local college mascot, or Mario Bros. Dd has dressed up like a variety of Disney princesses, a witch, and last year she was Cleopatra.
However, this year, we will be out of town for Halloween. Dh is running a a full Ironman in Florida, and then we are going to DisneyWorld. We thought they'd forgive us if a trip to Disney was on the agenda...;). We will have our own family Halloween party with Candy and birthday cake (since Dh's b-day is on Hallloween) and maybe do some games and watch movies.

Kennedy is borrowing his uncle's Buzz Lightyear costume. Jessica is dressing up as Jessie. I'm scrambling to make a Bo Peep costume (that doesn't look trampy), and we're going to try to get my DH to be Woody. :) We don't normally do that, but thought that Kennedy would get a kick out of it this year.

So far we have a rock star. And a minion. I think my oldest will probably be a super hero of sorts. I found some cute ideas on Pinterest. My 14 yr old son will probably NOT want to dress up. However every year he is torn as he still wants the candy. LOL

Luke's the only one who dresses up in this fam. :) This year he wants to be an anime character. I have NO idea how that's gonna work.
