What does June look like or mean for you?

For us, June means cold mornings and nights here, making big batches of pumpkin soup for freezing, colds and flu, lots of school stuff and a long weekend!

June means:

End-of-school
Graduation (DS "graduated" preschool today. I will have my days free next school year!!!)
Birthdays
Father's Day
Flowers blooming
Grilling out and s'mores!

Wrap up of school & sports

Baseball/softball!!!

Most important of all- LAKE time! :hammock

Vacation time week (Washington DC here I come)
swim time
free evenings (soccer all done for grandkids)

Morning frosts, cooking with the slow cooker, finishing term 2, and counting down until the shortest day (21st June, only 3 weeks to go!).

Mostly frosts though...

Summer vacation!! Woot!
The end of sports and Ramen dinners
Coffee and a book on my deck in the mornings
2 kiddos' birthdays and Father's Day
More scrapping time
Flowers
Grilling
Riding the ATV
Long walks
Fishing at the pond
Pool time
I seriously could go on and on...June is awesome!
:swingin:yahoo:yesss:martini

Heat & Humidity
Mowing the grass
Blueberries and beans and peppers and ....
Hot and humid - afternoon thunderstorms
grilling
walking across very hot parking lots
and did I mention it was hot?
my birthday & anniversary - double presents!
vacation - amusement park, water park, and mini-golf, and food and more food
and all so cool A/C cause it is hot

It's supposed to be the real onset of Winter, but still very little rain here and warm temperatures mean that the Western Cape is in a state of emergency. Hopefully this big storm predicted for Weds will make landfall and break the drought.
Other than that it's exam time and then school holidays at the end of June. Life is relaxed at present though so I have no need to rush things.

@BevG we often have answers that are alike!
*Heat & Humidity (but not so far this year...)
*putting away the fall/winter clothes tho I have actually worn flannel pajamas at night this week when watching tv
*my granddaughter's hs graduation
*wishing I had done more garden clean up a month or two ago
*gathering all my To Print pages and doing an upload to Persnickety
*preparing heavy soups and other to freeze meals for the man who stays hungry all summer; me? I really don't feel like eating in summer
*counting the days til Autumn

I don't know why, but I always get a little thrill when I read about y'all who are having opposite seasons from me. To actually know someone who lives that far away and experiencing the opposite side of the world, well, it's just cool!

June to me means:
  • Daniel's 12th birthday
  • Mini staycation for my hubby, me and two kiddos
  • Father's Day
  • Hot and humid weather
  • Watching lots of movies and TV
  • Staying up late and sleeping in
  • A well-deserved break from tracking Daniel's schoolwork

Summer is thinking about arriving here in Seattle. We will have a glorious day and then back to the rainy/overcast norms. School is out for the grand kids Friday and we will start our summer field trips again. Alex broke her arm (humerus bone) last week, so we may have to rethink where we go this summer.

June means
My Birthday :-)
Wonderful days of cool nights and warm days
Gardening time
Bushwalking (aka Hiking)
Fog in the early mornings at times

Summer!!
middle daughter turns 10!
Beach Trip
Soccer Camp
Hanging at the pool = lots of reading time
grilling out, watermelon, strawberries, ice cream :)

June is summer break, high temps (think 100 by 8 am and hotter in the afternoon), one birthday, and no schedule :)

dry or humid? I have been to AZ during a 100+ spell but it was dry. The humidity is what gets me.

June means the start of weekends at the trailer, night time walks with Taz as the days are longer, BBQ dinners and digging out the flip flops.

This June means summer break, DH's birthday, strawberry picking, family vacation, board meetings, and starting Whole30.

Pray for us! :giggle
