Woo-hoo!!! We have a new batch of books to read together! :circles

You will soon see four new threads in this forum for the next few months (March - June 2020). This will allow everyone to start getting these books on hold at your libraries.

The book for June is The Lager Queen of Minnesota by J. Ryan Stradal. Feel free to read them in any order that you choose and when you've finished reading, come back here and tell us what you think. Please label spoilers or even type them in white like I just did right here(highlight that blank space) so that a person has to highlight it to read it.

Just a note, anyone can read these books at any time and join in the discussion at any time too! The more the merrier! :agree

I read this sometime early in the year and really liked it! so funny. I have nothing to discuss as it's been a good while ago but the way the women stuck together was inspiring! Never underestimate the power of a woman!

I still haven't read this one because my library didn't have in online. Lol. I'm so spoiled getting my books free there usually.

Oh I do understand. I know someone who as soon as she hears of a book, she buys it. I used to be that way and learned there were some I really didn't like enough too read so it was a habit I gave up.

I just finished this one a few weeks ago. I absolutely LOVED it! I don't drink beer. I don't know anything about it, but I was totally sucked into this world of creating ales, beers, and lagers (because they are all apparently different, ha!). Stradal has such a beautiful way of painting characters. There were several descriptions that made me pause and listen again. I read this on audio and it was amazing. The characters are all so deeply flawed, but you love and cheer for each of them. I totally agree with @cookingmylife ...Never underestimate the power of a woman! This novel celebrates what happens when women stick together and use their own unique gifts and abilities to lift each other up!
