Another question that I was thinking about - especially since we are reading as a group of scrapbookers... In Matched: How did you feel about the Hundred History Lessons, Hundred Songs, etc? At first I liked it because there was a group of favorites that everyone learned about and were well preserved. It reminded me of pages that we often do as scrapbookers of current favorite topics... until I realized that they were destroying everything else! And that everyone's hundred were the same.
Heather, that's an interesting point. I thought it was horrible that they could limit themselves to 100 of each! Also, Cassia felt it was a great honor for her grandmother to be chosen to be on the committee that got to pick what to keep, but I would have hated the job and gone to all lengths to avoid it: imagine the responsibility of choosing which poems would be kept and which would be lost forever!
