Joel said I could get a REAL camera

I love my Rebel. I do love my 50mm, but my 35mm hasn't came of my camera since I bought it. How fun that you get a new toy!

No way. MUCH more expensive, at least on our island. But I've never priced electronics on the peninsula. {and YAY for moving to the land of eternal summer!}

Now I'm feeling confused. My photography friend said that I should get the 55mm-200mm lens. What do you girls think? I can only get one extra lens right now. Any opinions?

I found the D3000 refurbished on BH Photography for $399, as well as the rebel xs for that amount. Any opinions on that?
 
I have a Nikon as well, but it's all just a matter of preference. I think that you can trust the refurbished items at B&H. I haven't bought refurbished from there myself, but they have a very good reputation.

I understand your hesitation Kellie! I bought my first DSLR 5 years ago.. a Canon 30D. I do love it but I also get the itch to buy a better body all the time. I don't think you can go wrong with either canon or nikon. I have to agree with everyone else though... my nifty 50 has pulled off some of my favorite shots (I don't have any great lens's...its just not in the budget yet) :) Congrats on whatever you decide on!!
