I LOVED this challenge! Beautiful - MOC5 Day 8 Challenge by Mama Shades posted Jan 8, 2017 at 3:25 PM
I enjoyed doing this- I think our kids will love having all our traditions compiled on this page in the future.
Day 8; All about It's all about El Caminito del Rey; Originally built between 1901 and 1905 and was used to transport material and people between two power stations that were built either side of the El Chorro gorge. It was named after King Alfonso XIII. The gorge is an amazing place with huge walls of rock as high as 400 meters along its 3 kilometre length. The Caminito slowly fell into disrepair over the years and was officially closed in 2000 after several people fell to their death. The Caminito became 'world's most dangerous pathway'. In late 2013 the government built a complete new and safer path just above the old one. Since 2015 the Caminito is open for 600 visitors per day.
