January 6: Shape cut out of element

January 6 shape cut out
Used a grad cap, fun challenge and something I wouldn’t usually think to do.
Used just jaimee 24/7 kit

Thanks for the new challenge... I love that MOC always pushes me out of my comfort zone!
(ETA: I just re-checked the instructions and wanted to make sure you knew that my multiple star cutouts are a single element from the Shimmer kit. Thanks!)

This was a fun challenge and easier than I expected :) I usually do not journal much on a page because I am not that skilled at doing it mostly and I often like the photos to "speak for themselves." I actually need to install some fronts into my PSE as I often have trouble finding ones I like to use. I am not totally pleased with the "blocky" looking font I used on this page but it allowed me to see what I was doing when I clipped my element to the journaling. If I become more skilled at journaling itself I will use this technique again. Thank you much for this challenge :)

Sometimes simple is good, yeah? But there's simple and "wow this almost feels like cheating." Stg I spent longer fighting with myself over adding elements than I did planning or putting this together.

I have a question once you get the marching ants around your "element shape" and delete the text; hide the element how do you get the marching ants to go away?

I always have problems with those darn ants.
Cmd-D on the Mac (I think it's Ctrl-D on the PC). :)

Command + D on a Mac (Ctrl + D on a PC??)

The script is part of The Night Before Christmas. I cut out a tree using a wooden element in Season of Magic. The tree doesn't show up as much as I'd like, I guess a more dense text would show it better.

Clarification on Rule 3:
"3. You can use any shape you like, but you can use only one for your page"
This means we can only CUT out ONE shape for the page, not that we can't use an element of the same shape somewhere on the page - correct??

You can use only one shape to cutout, but I'm fine with using it more than once (as long as the shape is clearly visible)
