January 6: Dispersion (Technique Challenge)

This challenge was almost the end of me. I understood the technique, I just couldn't figure out how to get it into a layout I was happy with. BUT, I finished a page I am not embarrassed to share, so I will take that as a win.

Regardless, I am still glad to be learning so many new things this month.

Definitely something I need to keep trying.

I'm not really thrilled with my final dispersion but loved getting to learn a new technique. And now that I understand what each step is for, I think I'll enjoy trying it again sometime. Thanks for the step-by-step!

I scrap exclusively on my ipad using apps, I could not get any of the ones I currently had do a dispersion similiar to the output as described in the photoshop example. I did find an app, after trying many of them, that gave me this dispersion, I loved it, and I hope you do to and that it allows me to continue with MOC6.

Here's mine... finally... I did understand the concept but struggled with a photo that would work to achieve the effect. I finally went out of the box and it worked out okay I think.

WIth this post I am caght up...I enjoyed learning a new technique although I don't think i did a good job at it...I watch several videos and thought I did it right only to find out I didn't...I might contine to play with this but for now this fulfills the requirement and I am done with it...sometimes things have to stew for awhile LOL...anyway here is my LO that I am NOT happy with

I started this layout sooooo many times. I can't tell you how many times I trashed it and started over. I did the dispersion technique on day 1, but the "layout" part is what I couldn't settle on. I finally did one that I like. Thanks for the challenge, Jan!

This technique was not in my comfort zone so I took my page a way I don't usually and I LOVE IT! Thanks for the challenge.

Photoshop does wonderful things, but this took me 2 days trying to remember all the extra clicks and places to go! Still, I think I did an okay job. I was trying to convey the passage of time with out words. Suggestions?

Does this work for to qualify for the challenge? I use Artisan and had a hard time with this one...

Okay. Not the result I was hoping for, but I did give it a college try. I had problems with the tool and after a reset of all my tools and a few googling my issues, I got there. Unfortunately as part of the reset my history got reset to 20 so when I realized I hadn't picked up the right layer, I couldn't go back as far as I wanted and there was no way I was starting over at that point. Now that I've done it once, I can kind of understand better what each step was trying to do, so I think if I tried it again it would be better. I guess not all these techniques will be my "cup of tea", but I tried it.

Well, this technique didn't really work out as planned but points for trying something new! I could get it to blur but not the spray/fracture effect, not sure that worked right!

Does it still count if it didn't work out well?
