January 6: Dispersion (Technique Challenge)

Oh my gosh, biggest challenge ever! Even though I have Photoshop, if it hadn't been for the video (thank you!!), I could never have completed this. I am in awe of those who have come up with something using a different program … wow! To be honest, I'm not likely to go to this much trouble again, but I did learn more about layer masks for sure.
 
This took me a couple tries to get the right look but it turned out cool! Thanks for introducing me to something new :) I went for a more messy AJ/collage style for this one, definitely different for me!
 
I hope you can see that I tried very hard to replicate the dispersion technique. 6.5 hours I spent on this today.

Thanks for the great challenge! I've tried using this technique before in PSE, without success so loved seeing an easier way to create this awesome effect!
 
This was a real challenge and I LOVE it!!! I was pulling my hair out last night and decide to just come back to it. I dreamed about this technique and exactly what photo I should use. Finally I had a chance to sit down and scrap it tonight and I am so pleased with the result! Thank you for this amazing new technique!!

 
Here is mine, thank you for this fun challenge, I had to do a couple of work arounds probably not the best photo to choose but I think with practice this technique might just be a go to one for me. Thanks again :)
