My favorite challenge so far! Already a ton of things I'd like to try. Thanks for the inspiration and the enabling... now I want Val's actions too! ETA: I used an action on my original photo and (obviously) did a ton of masking.
I had to review a Youtube tutorial on the dispersion effect which was great because I've wanted to try it out for the longest time. Thanks for the push, Jenn.
Mine .have done black and white before, but never like this .the effect is called perfect portrait ,and I didn't have to tweak it, so happy how clear the photo stands out. The snowflake is a brush as is the snow.
Well I went to town with the photo PHOTO EFFECTS Fresco filter in PSE (twice, with different blending modes/opacity) Heartland photo action by Pioneer Woman (overlay blending mode) Blended over various patterned papers by Quirky Heart
Thanks for the tut. I followed it to the letter once I remembered to set the foreground color to black. The red dots really didn't do as well with the tut. Here's mine:
Oh did I love this!! I learned all about the Smart brush tool!! I will be using this ALL the time now! It was AWESOME!! Thanks for the challenge!
Thank you, Jenn! This was a great idea for a challenge. I love your photos & I am always so inspired by the way you crop your photos & the treatments you use! Playing with cropping & photo treatments has given new life to my early digital photos, which are all my beloved travel photos. For this photo from 2006, I used 5 different My Four Hens photo actions. (Original photo & more details in the gallery description.) Here's my page:
