Fun challenge- thanks! I haven't done paper tears in forever though so I don't really remember how. Mine are not as good as the inspiration layout by Christy Riopel but I still love my page.

 
I used one of my favorite applications as a paper scrapper. I scraplifted the details on the side cutting elements in half to fill a column:
