January 29 - Paper to Digi Hello everyone! Welcome to Day 29 of the Month of Challenges here at The Lilypad! I can't believe that this is the last week of our Month of Challenges, only three more Challenges... I hope you enjoyed all so far. Today's Challenge is "Paper to Digi"... I love to see beautiful "real" paper layouts, they are so inspiring and I like to touch all these cute little elements. BUT I prefer digital scrapbooking because here I have the possibility to easily change a thing, move it around, to see how it will look before everything is "fixed". And I can use everything more than once. In this challenge we try to achieve a "real-paper" looking layout, it's also a sort of scraplift... Look for a paper layout (please make sure that it is a real paper layout!) you like and try to scraplift this in digital, using digital papers and elements. It mustn't be a exact scraplift, but it should be visible that your new created page is based on the paper layout you have chosen. You find pictures of real paper scrap layouts on many sites in the internet, here is a link which I found when I searched for beautiful layouts: *click* I decided to use this lovely paper layout created by Sheree Forcier as my inspiration: And this is my digital layout: When looking more accurate on a paper layout then there are some things which I notice as "typical": - not everything is 100% precise as it is "handmade" - shadows! - paper layouts often include handwriting or stamped elements - papers are often not only glued, but also stitched with a sewing machine So that's why I decided to give you some tips/hints: - if you want to include your own handwriting, Heather Joyce creates your own custom font of your handwriting! - Realistic looking shadows are great! If shadows are challenging for you, there are some elements in the store that can help you: * Valorie Wibbens has the "A Bit Worn" series: * If you can't create them by your own, maybe this is something for you: - And there are many, many packs with stitches in the shop! Here are some examples: Requirements for this Challenge: - Search a real paper scrap layout you like and create a digital layout based on this - It mustn't be a exact copy, but it should be recognizable that you used the paper layout as inspration, a bit like a scraplift - No Templates! - Please don't forget to give correct credits/link to the paper layout which you used as inspiration (also in the gallery!)! Post a link or image of the layout you chose along with your layout in this thread. General Requirements: Your page must be a new page in order to count for the Month of Challenges. Your page must also be posted in three places: Uploaded to the TLP Gallery (not an outside hosting site). Posted in your page thread you created in the MOC Layouts Folder. You should have one post per completed challenge page. If you complete all 31 challenges, your thread should contain 31 posts. Please do not comment in the participants’ page threads so we can keep them clean. Posted in this thread. People can comment here if they wish. Pages should contain at least 75% current Lilypad product (currently for sale in the store from either permanent designers or guest designers). I can't wait to see what you create!!!
