January 24: Blurring the Foreground

full

My ride or die: Coffee, Bible and my iPad for digital planning-blurred the coffee cup.

This was a tough one for me. I do have a DSLR but don't use it regularly, and we haven't seen the sun here in weeks -- or so it seems so it was hard to get what I wanted to photograph to have enough light to use the f stop I wanted to blurr the foreground. I finally turned on every light in the sunroom and got this shot. Thanks for challenging and getting me to pull my DSLR out again.

The top right photo of my alpine lodge is the one I took for this challenge. Thanks!

It was so cold today, I didn't get off my front porch! It's not obvious, but the white column on the right is in the foreground.

I was so happy to find the rain had stopped and the sun had come out, when it came time to address this challenge... and as others have said, a challenge it was... I photographed the cat sleeping, my Grapefruit tree, other plants, the Limon tree, some moss with a wheelbarrow in the foreground and the creek... I used an iPhone and thought it would not be a problem, but yeah, it was... Tried some of the portrait settings... the concept of a blurry foreground was such that my mind would not focus on what that would take... Blurry backgrounds are no problem...

The day of this challenge, my daughter and I were eating lunch and I got the idea to shoot a photo of her through the chopsticks. Love the result!
