taken with my iPhone 5 this afternoon. I tried to focus on lighting (while sneaking the photo) and had the light to my side. I also edited the photo using PS CC, I played with the curves a bit to make it look a bit brighter, also added some warmth to make it crisper. Also cropped the photo to take out background distractions.
I snapped this with my iPhone and got super in my cat's business to keep out the background and then edited in VSCOCam (my all time and forever favorite).
Mine Tip #1 - Light: lightning is difficult on the dark morning so i turned off. Tip #2 - Background: as little as possible Tip #5 - I had fun taking this kind of instant picture I usually don't think at
A hurried iphone photo at a school demonstration, unprepared and all. Did some fixing in PS. My iphone is so old, all the lovely apps mentioned here don't work anymore
I used the point editing - I love vsco and always use it to edit my photos: https://the-lilypad.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=184046&title=hapiness-is&cat=782
Thanks for the challenge. I used tips 2, 3, and five. I cropped in so there was less clutter around him, I edited in Photoshop so that it was brightened up a bit, and I had fun choosing an angle that would show both him and the book.
I took my photo with iPhone 4S, tried to maximize the light, turned the photo b&w in photoshop and had fun
I used my iPhone for these photos... the tips I used were editing (I used my goto app vscocam to take and edit) and I also used the lighting tip. It was dark, so rather than turn on the overhead light (and risk waking my kid up), I turned on the bedside table lamp, as well as leaving the hall light on.
Here's mine! I used my iphone in my dark bathroom (took into account tip #2 of watching the background because you can't tell we're in a bathroom here, lol!) and I used my ipad softbox app, with my ipad propped up on top of my toilet. Tip #1 was light, so I used that when I used my ipad as my light source, and I used tip #3 and edited my photo with the VSCO app
Well, I only have a DSLR so I just shot these on auto. I tried to get him by the window for better light (#1), I got close to minimize the background (#2), I edited it after (#3) (always!) and I had fun! (#5)
This is a photo of the garland and pick that I have decorating my porch. When I take down my Christmas stuff, I leave up anything winter-ish until Spring comes. I used my iPhone 4S using the Camera+ app. While framing the pic, I made sure to angle down to only get the lawn in the background instead of the parking lot traffic beyond. I also tried different flash settings to make sure I got as much light as possible. Finally I took advantage of the Miniaturize filter in the app. The sticker I added is from Allison Pennington's CliffNotes (chestnuts roasting edition).
My favorite challenge so far! I purposely used my crappy cell phone just to see how it would do. I placed the flowers near a window, shot against a plain background and popped the color in editing.
I took a photo of our little black dog who usually looks like a little black blob in photos. She is strongly side-lit, as she was sitting in a sunbeam on the chair in my office, but I love the expression on her face. I turned on the overhead light and did a little processing in PS.
I really struggle with indoor photos as I have a hereditary tremor that affects my hands. To get a half decent picture I have to remember to use the best of any available light that comes in through the windows, like I did with this photo. I also had the patterned furnture covered with a blanket to save from a distracting background. From the camera I cropped in further using the golden ratio facility in PSE and added in a number of photo actions to increase the contrast in the colours of kitty's face and sharpen her features a little.
