January 19: Clip Photo to Title/Alpha (Technique Challenge)

So the technique challenges always teach me something new! This one I struggled with a little, as I thought I knew exactly what I was doing. Turns out the alpha I chose (and bought new today) would only allow me to clip to the letter outline. In convincing myself that was the case, though, I reviewed the tutorial and ended up learning how to brush my own mask on the main photo on the page. Thanks for teaching me something new!

I couldn't help doing a script. I like the peek of sprinkles and kisses from the photo of the cookies. Another December day complete!

I extracted the "K" out of the sign, typed the rest of the word, and then clipped the greenery from the photo onto the title. The photo of the "Kimonos" sign has a lot of greenery behind it, so that's the photo on top of the title. Fun challenge, thanks! I hope it meets what you were looking for.

This MOC is my first foray into Photoshop, so nearly every challenge is something I've never done, lol! I had a fun time figuring this one out... thanks! :) I clipped separate photos to each number to create a book cover for 2017

here is my take on this challenge- it was a fun one to complete- discovered i am missing lots of alphas i thought i had per my preview folder :)
