Welcome to Day 18 of your Month of Challenges! I am sure loving all the buzz in the gallery, and hope you're having as much fun as I am with all the creative energy. I hope this challenge gets your creative juices flowing like it did mine!

At the beginning of each year, I like to pick a concept to focus on for the next twelve months. An area of self-improvement. A discipline. A practice. A word that reminds me to live intentionally.

In the past I've created pages for these words:

This year, I'm drawn to the word Nest. It came to me during a time of worship at church, as I contemplated how birds build a nest to care for the offspring to come. They gather scraps of twigs and down and paper and all sorts of things to create a safe and protective environment. And later they bring back food that they have semi-digested and feed it to their babies. Even though my children are grown, parenting hasn't stopped. I'm in a season of learning to parent well at this stage, and this Nest idea is resonating with me.

For today's challenge, I'd like you to scrap a page about a single word or concept that resonates with you right now. We're in a new chapter here at TLP, and perhaps you're turning a page, too. That could be a direction to explore. Words like Resilience, Renewal, Thrive, Persevere, Purpose, Transition, and Rebuilding come to mind.

But maybe some other area of focus is important to you right now.

Here are some common themes and examples:

Action/Doing:
Do, Make, Go, Rise, Act.
Mindfulness/Presence: Now, Pause, Present, Breathe, Still.
Growth/Improvement: Grow, Improve, Evolve, Learn, Discover.
Well-being/Emotion: Joy, Happy, Peace, Calm, Brave, Wild, Vibe, Whole.
Simplicity/Focus: Focus, Simplify, Less, Space, Clear.
Connection/Love: Connect, Love, Together, Heart.

How will you choose? You might try:
Brainstorming
: Making lists of words that resonate with current life challenges or aspirations.
Observation: Noticing words that appear frequently in daily life, indicating they might be meant for you.
Inspiration: Looking at lists from others for ideas (Pinterest or the lists above).

POLLY INSPIRATION
Here's a page Marijke created to showcase her desire to make small choices every day that improve her life as a whole. The focus word, Eudaimonia, is prominently displayed with lots of hopeful and inspirational elements that are reminders to do those little things like capture the details, take the pictures, and get out into nature.

RULES FOR THE CHALLENGE
Your page can be any style, but the word must be prominently displayed. Consider using one amazing alpha, a mix of alphas, or styles applied to fonts like I did on the Nest page. Think about shape and design placement. Journaling and photos are optional, but you should represent the word graphically as well.

Your page must be a new page in order to count for the Month of Challenges.

Your page must be posted in three places:

1. Uploaded to the TLP Gallery (not an outside hosting site).

2. Posted in your page thread you created in the MOC Layouts Folder. You should have one post per completed challenge page. If you complete all 31 challenges, your thread should contain 31 posts. Please do not comment in the participants’ page threads so we can keep them clean.

3. Posted in this thread. People can comment here if they wish.

Please use the Copy GALLERY BB code found on the right side of the gallery when posting your pages to the MOC Layouts Folder thread and to this challenge thread.

Your page must contain Lilypad product (pages with photos and font only do not count). Product from other stores will not be allowed for MOC; your pages must contain 100% Lilypad product (current or retired product from designers or guest designers presently selling at The Lilypad).

Have fun! Can't wait to see what you create!

I didn't really want to use this cheezy word Organize, it seems so lame, but it keeps coming up for me day after day & it's obviously the word I need to focus on & really delve into this year, so I'm hoping & praying that my year will be full of some productive organization:

Acceptance

Google translated journaling:

If I were the type of person who had to choose a word to describe a goal for the new year, I would probably choose acceptance as my word of the year. It feels like I have reached a point where I have many things that I still struggle with, but that I need to accept so that life can be a little easier for me. In particular, I need to accept that I am sick and not pretend that I am not, because that only makes me worse and sicker. I also need to accept and tolerate that because I am sick I will miss out on many things, both socially and experiences in general. The same goes for the house. It is impossible to do everything we had planned to do in terms of renovation, and especially not within the time frame I envisioned. Accepting that things are as they are and that I am doing the best I can with the children is perhaps the hardest. I would love to be the way I was before, with the energy to do what I want with them, but it is no longer possible. I need to settle down with things being the way they are now. It may change, but it probably won't and I have to live with that.
