I'm so glad this challenge lead to this page. I wanted to do a page about Esther Bejarano for some time and am really happy that I did now, thank you! She is a Holocaust survivor and her antifascist political commitment and her whole personality made a lasting impression on me.

Grief is something very personal for me. I usually have little use for public expressions of grief. With Esther it was different, perhaps the first time in my life. I didn't know her personally, but she made a deep impression on me. Her courage, her commitment, her clarity, her unmistakable attitude towards life.
She died on July 10, 2021 at the age of 96. And I was really sad and feel it's a great loss to the world that she's not here anymore.
