January 12: Cropped/Hidden Photo as Title

@jenn mccabe Jenn I tried the rasrerize/simplify and that made no difference. My type was more or less centered in on the mask. I’m not at my computer now, giving it all a break for a while.

eta: Back! My mask was too small Jenn. I just did tarectangle and made it big enough to be 2/3 of the image and it's now fine. Phew! I thought I was losing it....

That's kind of what I thought was happening. But couldn't tell from the layers palette where the text was placed. Glad you got it!

Try this:
shapetool.jpg

OR ... in Photoshop - Adobe has such great help. If I hover over my shape tool, not click but hover, a help box comes up with a link to Learn How to use whatever tool it is I am hovering over. Do you have that option? It's a great way to get familiar with some tools in photoshop. The key here is that the shape you create is on it's own layer. When you get all the layers set up - make sure they are in the order shown in my original post. Let us know how it goes ...

Hope this one works! I moved the ARIZONA title to the side, the A is connected, not shadowed. The image here hasn't updated but the one in the gallery is correct.

I had to start over because the first picture I tried had an all-black background and you couldn't tell that the letters were part of the photo. This one shows the reflections of the tree lights. Both halves are separated in the gallery.
