January 11: Art Journaling-What's on the INside!?!

Here's my remake... and I'm much happier with it this go-round, lol as I thought I might be. Funny how that happens. And, yeah - um, I like it so much I made it my avatar. My favorite MOC7 LO so far!

It is 11:17 PST time... and I have just gotten here for today!... I have spent the whole day wrapped up in the Memorial service for my long time friend who I scrapped about the other day... It was an interesting day full of new revelations, and the assurance we all knew the same man... Since I can't pull a male silhouette and reflect on him, I think I will take the opportunity to record my thoughts and feelings while they re still fresh... We'll see how that goes!

UPdate.. OK... have cruised the forum thread, and have a whole new perspective... can hardly wait to get into my stash, and see what all cool things, I can come up with... Will leave retrospective thoughts for tomorrow.... I don't like AJ, but I don't think this is my idea of AJ... It is going to be fun! ( for me AJ is a page filled to overflowing with "stuff"... This has a lot of white space to allow your brain to settle....

Thanks @AnneofAlamo I love being challenged by you :) You bring out the art in me. I chose the silhouette with the profile and the bag and then I filled the bag :) I hope I didn't cover the silhouette up too much. I had trouble stopping. As the original silhouette is about 12" high and the rules state "YOU can GO BIGGER but NOT SMALLER" I worked on a 16x16" space so I could hang things off all edges of the silhouette without going smaller.

Feeling mardy and sorry for myself as I have been full of coughs, colds and sickness one after another for a couple of months now. ETA the cat is representing grumpy kitty me!

Need clarification. @AnneofAlamo when you said we could have stuff hanging off the silhouette I assumed like just a teeny tiny bit. Looking through other people’s layouts I have seen people with things like really hanging off. I have my layout done with and without wings. I really assumed that the wings would be altering the silhouette too much. Thanks for the clarification.

@AnneofAlamo you sure know how to challenge me....I made 2 LOs, hated the first one and the second one turned out kind of cool I think. So I ended up feeling positively rewarded, thank you!

Here's my LO:

I have my layout done with and without wings.
my main concern is that the behind the silhouette is clear...I think you need wings(I can feel it), let them touch the silhouette, add some glue (digi clear) and it will be amazing! Many times an element has what I call feelers, things that extend a bit. they are anchored to the silhouette, yet hang off.
I am also a big lover of expression in art journaling, but really hope people hold to the spirit of the silhouette being able to stand alone on the blank canvas.
I can't wait to see yours grace the gallery!!♥
I am on weekend crazy "why did I have kids and who are these little ones calling me Nanny?" (grandma) time, so getting to the gallery will have to wait until I duck tape them to the walls! bhjwhahah
