January 1 - Elements

Love this challenge! The hardest part was picking which element to scrap about because I feel connected to them all!

I chose Earth, simply because this best described the album I'm working on, our past trip to Joshua Tree National Park. I love the desert and miss it terribly when I'm back East.

This is the first challenge of the LilyPad’s 2024 Month of challenges. Julie wrote amazing definitions of the 4 basic elements of life... Fire, water, Air and Earth... Since I have a fear of water, I was surprised to find myself drawn to the Water element based on her description of it. Specifically the concept of rebirth, healing , change , regeneration, strength, and devotion. I find myself currently going through a phase of redefining myself in many ways...

I honestly struggled with this one. I decided upon Earth realizing that I spent a good bit of time last year hiking - both locally and on trips.

"Fire is a symbol of love, desire, strength, power, will, assertiveness, courage, freedom, passion and energy."
This description made me think of bonfires and the way they bring people together to share a warm and happy energy.

I stuck with my pocket scrapping tendencies and ended up w/ a 2-pg spread to help tell my story. I chose EARTH.

Great challenge! I practice qi gong, and in somehow speaks about the theory of the elements and how reconnect our inner energy with the elements thru a serial of movements. I went with air, and here's my take, full credits in gallery. Nice day!

I love the water! Any chance to be near the beach or listening to water just makes me happy. It's not a mistake that there's a pond in my backyard.

“The cure for anything is salt water: sweat, tears, or the sea.”
— Karen Blixen
This could be my life motto!

When I read this when it was first posted, I immediately related with the Earth elements, even though all of them touch me.

I chose air... there is something about the air outside that brings you back to life
