Jan 30 - All In A Row - Technique

this challenge reminded me of 2 skills i have been trying to figure out in PSE 13. I am by no means a master and i haven't had any luck figuring these out looking through menus

1 Is there a way to line up objects into a straight line without just using the ruler to line them up? In other words i want to be able to line up the tops of photos/ papers etc so they are in a straight line. Is there a snap to type thing?

2 If you want to untilt something is there a way to hard type the angle? in other words if something is angled and you want to straighten it, is there a way to set that angle to 0 vs using the move tool and trying to hit 0 spot on?

thanks

Yes you align objects using the tool options at the bottom of your screen.

Make sure you have the move tool selected. Then select your objects in the layers panel. If the tool options aren't open at the bottom of your screen click on tool options.
Then click on Align Top or whichever position you want to align.

For question 2. Yes you can type in an angle. Select the item and hit control T to get in transform mode. If you have auto select layer checked then you will already be in transform mode, so you won't need to hit control T.
Then, go to the bottom in the tool options and type in the desired angle in the degree box. And click the check mark.

Hope that helps.

@Lena Gardner , how much of sticking out is allowed? Only 3 pages in and I am a bit confused: card sticking out ok? Paint or splatter underneath strip?
I don't want to have to redo my page, but i like what others have done with splatter for example.

Her guidelines state a "small" amount of sticking out is okay, and here's where it gets a little bit hard, because small is open to interpretation. I think some paint slightly outside of the column or row is fine. I wouldn't let it spread all the way across the page. You could also do a paper strip, with your photos and elements over the strip, with the paint under the photos but over the strip (if that makes sense). You get your paint, it stays within the column, and everyone is happy! :)
