It's Christmas!

I enjoy the excitement of the lead up to Christmas. I do not like the commercialism that happens but that does not stop me from being a big kid and look forward to giving and receiving gifts.

This is me! :D

(although I don't decorate until after Thanksgiving if we are home since we always host at our house! BUT I'm ALL about the music & the shopping! ;) )

I just said today that it's officially started at my house because DH was watching Christmas movies last night. I'm just waiting on him to suggest putting the tree up lol. I'd like to wait a couple more weeks haha

Same at my house, DH is really into the Christmas movies. If it was up to him he would have the Christmas tree up year round, but I wait until after Thanksgiving. By Christmas week I'm a Bah Hum bug kinda girl, too much going on all month long.

LOL! So... driving my son to soccer practice at 6:00 in the dark tonight, I see a BRIGHT WHITE LIT CHRISTMAS TREE in the front window of a house. I started cracking up!

Maybe they were Diwali lights, this year I have seen a few houses using white lights for Diwali instead of the usual multi-colored ones.

Maybe... but in the window, it sure looked like a Christmas tree (6 foot tall, shape and twinkling lights) and had a topper too!

Same here. It all comes down the day after Christmas if not the evening of Christmas lol By then, I've had enough and want things back to normal.

I'm not ready for Christmas. It's craft show season and I feel like I'm going crazy. My to do list is nuts along with the fact that I'm working full time.

I'll be honest, the craft show season is great to make money, but it really puts a damper on the holidays and my holiday spirit. It's a lot of work and I have almost no down time (my next day "off" will be next Sunday 11/18) and I worry constantly about getting burnt out.

LOL! I am always anxious to get things decorated for Christmas - last year I did so before Thanksgiving! This year I will wait until the day after … however; either way - the stuff is down and packed away the day after Christmas!

Meh. Not only is there Thanksgiving to think about, but this week is my son's birthday, next week is my daughter's birthday, and the following week is my birthday (not that I do much for my birthday). I was surprised to see the Christmas tree up at the mall on Monday.
I'm the same here - my birthday Monday, Thanksgiving, dd's bday Nov 28, DH bday Dec 9. It's just all crammed in there. hahaha

We generally put up the tree the weekend after Thanksgiving and take it down around New Year's Day. This year starts a new normal for us as my work puts on a large event that goes from Wed - Sunday the week of Thanksgiving (check out the Festival of Trees & Lights that benefits Blank Children's Hospital) and my oldest got his first job at Target and will be working lots of holiday hours! Oh, and throw in the fact that I have jury duty the first week in December....lol! So this year will be interesting for sure!!

I’m with ya Jill. I do leave lights on my mantle for the month of January, but everything else is put up the day after Christmas!

I'm definitely not quite ready yet. Although I did scrap a Christmas page today... does that count? :giggle I think if the season didn't come with all the stress and extra stuff I would get excited to start it now myself. My oldest (14 year old boy) still gets SO excited about Christmas and says it that best thing of the year. He recently told me that it was WAY better than his birthday even. Lol!

OMG y'all... My husband went and got the tree and put it up a little while ago. He said "other people have their tree up", I said "yeah, crazy people", and he said "that's why ours should be up!" :giggle He is out of control, I tell ya. Out. of. control!
:helpy :tantrum

I love Christmas! I don't go all crazy super early with decorations since I have daycare kids in my home all week. Since I live in Canada we already had our Thanksgiving, so the day after Halloween we tune into the Buffalo station and listen to Christmas music in the car.

Beginning of December I start putting up decorations on the front window and we get into doing Winter/Christmas crafts. It makes up for not setting up our tree until right before Christmas day.

I love the Christmas season. Family, friends, good food and just watching pure joy in my kids eyes as they experience the season. I love how it brings out their giving, kindness and thoughtfulness side. They bond and build lasting memories as we continue and create new traditions. Plus those original peppermint candy canes - I can't resist!

Go for it!

After Thanksgiving for me with decorations. Although, I have already ordered my photo cards, thank yous, and the photo ornament. And yesterday, I picked up three ready-to-decorate gingerbread houses. I told my youngest that she and her sister have to decorate them until they go off to college since they don't do Halloween anymore. :)
