---- or do you find it hard to come up with something new and different for lunches / dinners at home?

My DH and I are in a deep rut, always buying the same stuff at the grocery store and always eating the same stuff - we need a change!! :giggle

Are we the only ones that go through this?

It's definitely not just you! Our dinners are usually one of maybe six options. But between a picky hubby and a food-allergic child, our options can be pretty limited if I don't pay close attention to the what and when of our menu. It has been super busy here, so I haven't done as good of a job planning ahead as I should, either.

Nope, not just you. When I get in a rut, I look to outside sources for ideas - like favorite meals to order at restaurants, or something new I've found on pinterest.

same here. we have our warm weather meal rotation and our cold weather meal rotation. i try to mix in "a new to us" Pinterest recipe every now and again and sometimes it is good enough to make the usual rotation of meals.

Same here, it' s so hard sometimes to find new things...

Nope. It's not just you. When I get in a rut, my go-to place for new healthy recipes is skinnytaste.com I love so many of her recipes! And she just came out with a cookbook. I might have to take a look at buying that, but for now I just use her blog.

Naaahhh.... it happens all the time. I'm always looking new recipes on Pinterest. I always end up with old faithfuls though. ;)

rut here as well. There are lots of dishes I would love to try but my son accuses me of trying to kill him if it has any vegetable other than the few he likes in it. He will eat corn, peas, broccoli, cauliflower and asparagus that's it. *sigh*

I just got chilli put together to throw in the crockpot tomorrow and I already know he will just push it around his bowl and pretend to eat because it has tomatoes in it He will literally pick the meat out and just eat that.

Did I mention he just turned 17?! Would live on pizza, cereal and pancakes if I let him.

I use Pinterest mostly for ideas... and after I've made it, I save it to my Made, Ate, Saved pile... for quick reference. I also scour for easy recipes... I found super easy enchiladas, crispy chicken, mustard chicken, and other easy recipes this way. DH is a help though... he is great at mixing and matching recipes and they turn out good... me, I follow the recipe, lol!

My oldest is only 9 and he is like this... it's like the end of the world, lol! The other day he gave me the biggest compliment... about BRUSSELS SPROUTS! I was roasting them and added spices and such... took them out of the oven for flipping/moving... and he runs in saying they smell great and he can't wait to eat them! I looked at him like he had two heads... he said "what?" and winked at me! WINKED! LOL! Later though, I realized he wasn't being sarcastic... he ate almost 2 and a half helpings!

We are a bit like that too as there are only 2 of us. It tends to be several meals with the same protein in a row.

Jenn, next time add bacon to your Brussels sprouts too that is how our family loves them! I try and look for new recipes when I'm feeling the same way. This time of year why don't you try new soups? Our family loves soups.

I gave up years ago. Now the kids figure out their own and we go out. I keep saying I'm going to start cooking again, but I can't figure out what to make. Especially not now that my husband is low carb. Ugh.

I LOVE Brussel sprouts!! We roast asparagus--little bit of olive oil, garlic and herb spices and some Parmesan cheese, sooo good.

I'm always in a lunch rut. I zero in on something for a while then eat it every day until I can't stand it anymore. Lunch kills me because I just want to shove food in my mouth and get back to work. Right now I'm eating caprese salads every day. I'm pretty tired of them but nothing better has come along.

Dinner I subscribe to a weekly menu plan so at least that's figured out for me. I have to sub meals in and out sometimes but that's the extent of my participation in dinner planning.

You are not alone. It's just my "same" is just different to yours.
