I've been burning my Christmasy candles - apple cider, balsam fir and I love those scents, but now that the Christmas season is past I need to move on. I'm not ready for full on spring florals - any suggestions? What candles/oils/etc are you loving for winter? TIA!

i agree with @cfile those are really yummy. i bought a few that had a caramel scent too. love them.
what about just clean refreshing scents like cotton/fresh linen, or something lemony to lift the spirits and the drab of winter?

now i want to light a candle! :)

My house smells like eucalyptus all winter... we all have that oil in our diffusers in our rooms to help with stuffy noses at night. This time of year I really like "spa" smelling candles... eucalyptus/sage, etc.

I like the linen too :) But to me I do that one in spring with also a rose one.

Here's what's burning in my house (and sorry the image is so large!):

It's to die for. I can't even begin to tell you how wonderful this smells. It was definitely worth the splurge!

yes, something fresh and clean sounds good

try like a hazelnut candle :) or pecan?

mmm, hazelnut

Yankee has some yummy ones... Salted Caramel, Candied Pecans both sound good. I've also had in the past - Home Sweet Home, White gardenia is a subtle flower scent, and a friend had Mandarin Cranberry that smelled good.

I went on the wesbite, and there are so many... lol! http://www.yankeecandle.com/includes/browse/shopByFragrance.jsp

I like the idea of Mandarin Cranberry.

Thanks all for the suggestions!

I try to avoid the yummy food smells. They always seem to make me hungry, lol! We use a lot of the room sprays from Bath and Body. One of my favorites is Teakwood.

I have one that is Yankee Candle that I have fallen in LURVE with. I received it as a house warming gift in late Fall but we think it has a smell that transitions into wintery .. Honey Clementine.

I don't think you can ever go wrong with a coffee or sugar cookie scent! I always think of winter when I smell cookies for some reason LOL

I love this one! From Bath and Body Works

If you live near a BBW they have a big sale on their candles. Hopefully you have a coupon too!? They have a lot of scents that are great for winter! AND they want you to be totally happy with their products! What does that mean? If the candle isn’t burning right bring it back and exchange it for a new one! The smell giving you a headache!!? Bring it back exchange it for a different one!
I worked there for years and that was our main training to make sure our customers were 100% satisfied!!

ooo, that sounds yummy!

I have been diffusing peppermint oil, great for the sinuses if you want to loosen things up.

I only use candles in the winter, something about them makes the cold a little more welcoming. I love cookie and vanilla scents. Orange or citrus smells are always great. For Christmas I was gifted a mandarin berry candle from Chesapeake Bay candle and it's lovely!
