My youngest daughter has challenged me to increase my working vocabulary. I know a lot more words than I regularly use. We have discussed ways I can do this, and one is to add a few new words/phrases into my gallery commenting each month. Not too many at a time so I can get into practice using them.

I often find myself using the same word or phrase over and over again. One scrapper commented that I say exactly the same thing on all her layouts - she's pleased to be consistent. I hadn't realised I was doing that, sorry. Do you use the same words over and over when commenting in the gallery? Do you want to be more confident when leaving love in the gallery? Do you want to expand your vocabulary? Would you like to join me in this journey?

I would like to invite you to join me in using new words when commenting in the gallery this month. You can choose your own words, or you can use the ones I have chosen. Please let me know that you are joining in, and what new words/phrases you are going to use. We can encourage each other and help each other.

This month I'm going to use to consolidate the words I focused on during January and February. I'm also going to add a new word for this month, this is the word that Monica @umyesh chose during February: Flawless.

The words from January and February that I'm going to continue practicing as they still don't feel natural when I'm using them are:
    January: Brilliant, Elegant
    February: Expressive, Interesting, Emotive

I didn’t use flawless as much as I’d hoped. Thanks for hosting this challenge Angela; it keeps me thinking.

In January I used adore and admire. I wanted to use "I'm crazy about" but didn’t.
In February I used flawless and fantastic.
In March I’d like to use “I’m crazy about” since I didn’t in January. I might come back here weekly to change it up more frequently too.

I do try to be thoughtful in my comments. I love to use words like cheery, candid, drew me in, kudos, playful, joyous...whatever the page makes me feel! Love that you're challenging yourself to expand your commenting vocabulary! We'll have the best comments in the whole scrap-o-sphere!

I feel like “love” applies to everything but I think adore and admire are good alternates and like using them more.

I’m glad you try to be thoughtful in your comments. I might have to try cheery next - love that!

Love your words -- such a "brilliant" idea! A suggestion for a future word that is similar to your February words -- evocative. Love that one and it sounds fancy. :giggle

I use adore quite a bit, but I'd like to try to use admire more often. Sometimes I use phenomenal for layouts that really blow me away. I love all these new ideas I'm getting!

I’ve never used evocative! I’ll have to look up the definition so I use it correctly lol

I just thought of another one! I use the word “colors” a lot so I want to try using “hues” instead. Anyone else have other good synonyms for “colors”?

I have to say, I think I was better at using these words than before but they aren't quite second nature yet

This is such a helpful little thread-- thank you everyone! I love expanding my vocab-- especially when I'm commenting on tons of beautiful layouts. And @umyesh , I will sometimes comment on colors using the word palette.
