I love this idea! Give us a mini kit and maybe an allowance of 3 or 4 additional items of our choice and see how we all use it. :D

    1. I would definitely do types of recipe challenges! Maybe something like using items from the letters of your name....
    For example with my name:
M - so I could pick something like a map, money or a mouse
E - something like earthy tones paper or an egg, or earmuffs
G - grass, glasses, or maybe something gold or gesso
A - an apple or maybe an alpha
N - newspaper or maybe netting
or maybe a recipe challenge using a number line like use ONE background paper, use TWO photos, THREE staples, FOUR buttons, FIVE stickers, etc...

    2. Lyrics challenge - either using parts of lyrics of a song or use it as inspiration for a page.

    3. and maybe a "refurbished" type of challenge where you take an old layout and re-do it. I know I see a lot of my old, old, old, layouts that I want to re-do haha!!!

How about something like this, where a photo is "printed" onto the background paper?

EONS ago when I was on the site CT for Scrap Artist I used to host a monthly challenge like this. It was pretty fun! I'd pick one element or paper from a bunch of designers and then everyone had to use those items for their layout. I can't even remember what I called that challenge... :giggle

I would love to repeat Cynthia’s Photo in Pieces slow scrap challenge. You must use one and only one photo. The photo must be cut in at least two pieces.

I would also love to do a C&S challenge that requires a non-neutral solid background paper.

oh, it's actually rather easy and I love using it on my layouts because it makes for a spectacular results. I use pen tool to draw a shape - any shape - and then convert it to text box. Write the text. Then if I need to adjust the points - I always do - just use the node tool to do that... I use Affinity Designer but the steps can't be that different in Photoshop or other software - drawing a shape and converting it to a text box is one of the basic functions.

I didn't know I could change the points in a text box after!! I use PS, so I'll have to try that! I might actually use the custom text shape more then!!
