The ice cream man just went by our house! I love hearing him coming! It gives me all kinds of nostalgic vibes. Chance is at the age where I know he wants ice cream, but he is "too cool" to go running out there :giggle. I told him you are never to old for the ice cream man! We didn't have one for a long time, and I kind of figured it just wasn't a "thing" any more, but for the last few years, he comes pretty consistently in the summer.

Do you have an ice cream man that comes through your neighborhood??

Been a few years since I've heard one. It was never a regular thing either not even during my childhood. We went to the ice cream place (that is still open) where you walk up, place your order, get your ice cream and enjoy. We've got 2 of those in town, one on each end of town.

We have one that very infrequently comes through our neighborhood. I've never gone out to flag it down - mainly because I hardly ever have cash on hand and I somehow doubt they take credit cards.

We have a couple of those, too. Well, one is actually frozen custard, but we call it the ice cream place :)

I am the same, very seldom have cash. The times we have gone out there, I usually have to get in the change jar when I hear him coming lol.

We live in the country on a main road so sadly no. I would be running out there myself! We hear onE in the distance when we sit on our back deck as one drives through a subdivision that is down the road.

Not that I know of. Like others it’s been years since I’ve heard one but even if I did I wouldn’t take any real notice because I can’t have any ice cream (I’m lactose intolerant and have been for 10 years).

We live in a small(ish) town on Lake Michigan, and I've still never seen an ice cream truck drive through. {sad face} But we have many small ice cream shops, especially right downtown for the tourists, so there's no shortage of ice around here. We have one really cute walk up shop that we often stop at on our bike rides around town.

BUT, we have friends that live on a small inland lake about 20 minutes from our house and THEY get an ice cream truck daily in the summer! My kids used to love when we'd go to their house when they were younger. They'd hear that music and start screaming for money! :giggle

We've used to have an ice cream truck come through our suburban neighborhood somewhat often in previous years. We heard one jingling once this spring and it seemed very strange. Haven't heard one since.

Jan, tell your son even adults buy from ice cream trucks. My last ice cream truck purchase was approximately a year ago. I had taken my kids to a concert up in D.C. and while waiting for them in my van an ice cream truck pulled up right in front of me. So I went and got a popsicle. :)

Generally I don't like them though. My kids and I jokingly call them "The High Fructose Corn Syrup Man." :lol

Loved the ice cream truck/man when I was a kid in the 60's.

We do have an ice cream truck that zoooooms through our neighborhood ... no bells, just an odd song with quacking ducks and a recorded voice saying "hello, hello." The truck moves so fast that even if you want to get ice cream he's gone before you can get out of the front door. I've suspected for years that it's a money-laundering business.

Recently I saw a post on our community's FB page about an ice cream truck being at a house in the 'hood. Apparently this gal arranged for one to come and sit for an hour. I didn't see the post until it was too late to drive over ... we have 1,600 houses in our community and the truck was on the far side, so too far to easily walk to.

Oh My... It has been what seems like forever since an Ice Cream Man has come by the house. I can remember my son and my Grand Children running to the end of the driveway to catch him though. Gosh, the last one we had here was probably 10 years ago! I wish another one would come by though... I would have money in hand and be hitting the curb. One is never too old for the Ice Cream Man! Too bad they don't have Blue Bell Ice Cream!

We did in Pittsburgh, but we live in a gated community now. So not daily, but about once a month the activities director schedules on to stop at the amenities center.

I remember being at friends' houses and them coming by. We always lived far out so they never came by our house.

And it would be quite comical to see an ice cream truck in our neighborhood driving on our mountain dirt roads. Our UPS guys can barely make it around. LOL.
