I"m getting a new car!!

No holds barred would be a Bugatti Veyron too... goes like a cut cat though with the roads being like they are in Canterbury still (huge potholes and constant roadworks following the quakes) it would spend more time in the garage not going anywhere...

Oh for sure Cheryl! I would definitely want to live somewhere where you could take it out to stretch its legs properly. No 35mph pot-hole-ridden city streets are gonna get the job done with that car.

woohoo for a new car! how fun!

i'm driving a toyota sienna minivan right now ... and i'm probably going to get a new one this fall. with the kids being young and having to drive car pool all over the place, i'm enjoying the space and ease of the mini van. once they are older i'll be switching things up! :)

Dana, that's what I have right now too. We leased it, and our lease is up, so we're trading that in for the new car. I DO really like the Sienna though. I would have been satisfied to keep if the trade-in didn't work out.

Congrats on the new car! I have a Nissan Rogue. I wish it had a little more room (we can fit 5 max in it), but it's great otherwise. :) Sad to say it, but I really wouldn't mind a minivan.... and I never thought I'd EVER say that.

I have a beat up old Toyota Camry ... I would NOT put a picture here of its poor old booty ROFL

That's so exciting Rebecca! Woo-hoo! Glad it all worked out for you.

I'm driving a Maroon Dodge Caravan. Nothing cool about that, but it's roomy and I like how it drives. blah, blah, blah. I keep telling my husband that I need to downsize though because I end up driving everybody and their brother home afterschool because I get off at 3:00 and have the room in my van. Here's what I really want:

No extra kids are going to fit in there! LOL!

I want an A4 S-line audi again. I loved mine, but after the accident it was not the same car.

I got an Odyssey when it made perfect sense with the kids age. Now that I'm mostly just driving myself, it's a little big. I'm hoping to drive it for a couple more years though so the oldest will be out of college. Then I might be able to afford a car payment again. I'll definitely NOT have a van after that.

New cars are so much fun! My hubby works for a Chevrolet dealer so we get some pretty good deals! Last year I upgraded my little Pontiac G5 for a Chevy Traverse SUV! Thank goodness we did because those hockey bags wouldn't have fit in my little car. About 1 month ago my husband sold his truck and we bought a Chevy Cruze. Way more economical and waaaaaay cheaper than the truck even if it's brand new! Enjoy and don't forget to share pics!

My car was totalled last week (a 2003 Ford Explorer) when my DD and I were t-boned on the drivers side. Today we are going to pick up a new Toyota Highlander! I really loved the Audi Q7 better, but we keep cars for a long time and we decided my DS would outgrow the Q7 before its useful life was over, so we opted to stay practical.

This is my car....

We're hoping to get me something new in Aug/Sep when my son will be in school full time. Our daycare bill will go down then. LOL! This is what I want...GMC Acadia

I LOVE the Acadias!! I really wanted one when we did the whole car thing a couple of years ago, but we went with another Volvo - the XC-90 SUV. I absolutely love it, and you can't beat Volvo's safety features. With a long commute we decided to keep safety as our #1 deciding factor, and my old Volvo was an excellent car too. So although I still love the Acadias, I'm happy with the Volvo

oOoh! my! I hope you guys were okay?!

I'm with Karen. We were stuck in horrible traffic yesterday, and I told DH that I'd like a convertible Mini Cooper. Or a convertible VW bug in my "happy peanut" color. I'm tired of driving around a boat.

We have a Ford Explorer that is still in great shape and only 130,000 miles, but it is 12 years old. DH doesn't want a car payment (which I can understand), but the reason he doesn't is because most of the time, he's giving money to his irresponsible adult children who don't pay their bills and create crises and expect him to bail them out (which he does almost monthly in one way or another). Last month, he forked out about 1000 combined to the two of them, and that isn't counting the $700 he spent to visit them across state (renting a car, a hotel room, and paying their meals), so we can't really afford a car. Ugh.

I'll just live vicariously through you guys and my DD. She surprised me last week. I came home from the beach and saw a brand new Prius in front of the house. She bought it while we were gone. She's really excited. She commutes 40 miles each way to work, so a hybrid is going to be great for her. She is a baker, so she's calling it "Tartlet"
