So I'm curled up with my daughter tonight after her theater performance leaving a little love in the gallery from my iPad. After watching me hunt and peck on the little iPad keyboard for a few layouts, she looks at me and says, "why aren't you using speech to text?!?"

Ummmm. Uhhhh. Wellllll.

Why have I never thought of that before??? I use speech to text all the time on my phone to text friends. I just never thought of using it in the gallery! So, yes. I feel dumb but I now have this fun speedy way to leave more gallery praise. Thanks to my seven-year-old. LOL

Try it. You'll like it. :thumbsups

That's a great idea! I use mine on my phone a lot, too!

my kids make me feel dumb almost daily with the stuff they figure out. ;)

Wow! I never thought of that either! What a great idea. Kids are useful!! :)

It's hit and miss whether Siri actually recognizes my voice!

OMG yes! My Siri hates me! She never understands me. I have a iPhone 5. My dh has an iPhone 5S. His Siri loves him! And she's faster on his phone even though we are both on Verizon.

I never use speak to type because Siri just comes up with crazy substitutions.

Oh - great idea! But then how would she ever get all the exclamation points and smiley faces I tend to use? ;) :giggle

Well, I my teenager actually taught me this. Siri does put in the punctuation if you say exclamation point you get a !
She will do the same for period and comma too. :)

lol. my kids do this to me all the time.

and ya, voice to text is an awesome way to leave more love... you can just lay there and leave love :)

I can't remember where I read that speech recognition is mainly based in male voices. More women have problems with any voice recognition softwares than men.

That makes sense, Dalis! Siri hates me too, but she does whatever my husband asks, lol!

BRILLIANT! It really takes a child to know these little techy details.

My favorite thing is when my iPhone button is accidentally pushed in my purse and Siri asks me how she can help me, causing both me and anyone within earshot to freak out a little bit, LOL. Has happened more than one :giggle

Huh...I am so behind the times. I would never have thought to do that. My daughter just told me last wk that I butt dial her all the time LOL.

My teenager seems to have a perpetual long suffering expression on her face these days as she trys to keep me up to date with technology :giggle

I'm not sure I should admit it, but I have never used speech to text for anything. The most I've ever used Siri for was to set a timer, and she screwed that up! ;)
