After 7 years, I have finally decided that it is time to replace my MacBook Pro. So, today, I took advantage of the BestBuy sale and ordered a new 14" MacBook Pro. I hope I like it. I love my old 15" 2014 model, it has been fine except the battery is kind of losing its life and it won't be able to get any further OS updates. I did opt for the 1TB drive as I feel like I'm always trying to offload files to keep my 500GB one clear enough to function well.

And super yay for a larger hard drive! I think that was a great idea!

That is so exciting! Congratulations on the new computer! It's always so fun to have a new and faster computer! Waiting for it to arrive is the worst part. :giggle

Enjoy! It's always a lot of work at first with a new computer to get everything set up and then the fun starts! Enjoy it. I know my PC will need to be replaced in the next few yrs, it is old but (fingers crossed) it is still working fine.
 
it arrived last week, I turned it on and copied everything from my old MacBook and then realized that was a mistake because I had all these old programs that don't work and the uninstallers don't work anymore. So, I reset the new one and only copied over my data. I finally figured out how to save my photoshop setting and get new mac set up with things. And Lightroom. I haven't given it a good test run yet to see how it behaves. It might take a little getting used to the slightly smaller screen and keyboard. I didn't think the size difference would be that much from my 15" to the 14", but happy for a little lighter weight. The trackpad is already so much better, it hasn't had me running to plug in my old mouse - but that could easily change once I really start playing in photoshop.
 
Enjoy! My MBP is 7 years old, too. I’ve already replaced the battery and it seems as if the new one isn’t lasting like it should. I also opted for 1T. I wish they offered 2T.
