I'm actually doing both..... LOL. all the stamping and paints were meant for junk journaling.... and they have kinda taken over everything.... LOL
Here's an accordion album I made a long time ago - my grandkids were so little. I used flip flops on each end. The pictures aren't the best, but you get the idea.
Thanks, Susie! I wish I still had it - one of my daughters conned me out of it. It was a lot of work - getting the heavy paper to stick (and stay stuck) to those flip flops was the trickiest part. LOL
I've been really, really busy and have not had the opportunity to get back to my homemade journals. Earlier in the month, I made these tags for the paper bag journal. The tags will placed, well, inside the bags! I previously posted these pics on Instagram, but forgot to add them here. I used Allison Pennington's Waterside papers and elements.
We always knew you were creative from what you make in digital-land. But gosh, you've got some mad skills in analog art!!!!
Awwwww, thanks, Lisa!! I used to do a LOT of altering and book making. I made both my sisters books from scratch from their trips to Africa on mission trips, among other things.
LOVE all of these - I wish I still had all the tags I've made over the years. LOL I always gave them away.
So.................... I started my mini. I thought the paper bag book would work great for the spell book idea. And it does. And it looks SO good. But.......... This idea has spiraled out of control. So originally, I thought, make a cool spell book for Halloween, but I'm having a hard time categorizing this project into a decoration. Looking for inspo led me down a rabbit hole where I discovered there is this fascinating concept of creating a book that is much more personal. Most of what I saw was about Wicca and witchcraft though. That's not me. BUT..... many of the creators shared that you don't have to adopt the culture and beliefs to enjoy the journey of creating a book that represents you and where each element and idea takes you. Yes, please! I'm doing it. I'm still going to enjoy the heck out of decorating the pages and filling the pockets of this mini book with a fictional fantasy theme. Afterall, I love paranormal and fantasy fiction, Twilight, Discovery of Witches, Lord of the Rings, Mortal Instruments, Shadowhunters... I already downloaded a bunch of goodies to play with LOL. Here's my mini so far. I've only done the cover and tabs so far... No pages yet. I used Hear My Voice - Hurting by Rachel Jeffries and Lynn Grieveson. I wanted the neautrals and the touch of blue and orange sold me because I knew I wanted to do a bolder color for the binding. This collection was perfect. I used the French Link binding method to stitch the bags together. Thanks for looking!
I actually cut the flower out using my Cricut joy…. Then I used my alcohol Markers to color and creat a gradient look. The lighting doesn’t show the gradient very well…. You can see the gradient effect more in the leaves.
Yay! I'm sooo behind everyone else ... but I just punched the holes through my folded paper bags & picked out yarn/thread to sew them together. Any year now I will do that.
My base is done! The bags are full of text and images. I will have to cover them with paper and/or paint.
