Make no mistake we need the rain, have been praying for rain. This is predicted to be the worst storm in over 30 years. All the schools in the Western Cape have been closed for tomorrow. This has never ever happened in my living memory. I mean our kids go to school when the temperatures get close to 40C (body temperature is 37C) and even do school sports in the heat. So it's unprecedented. So many of our people live in less than ideal homes, informal settlements and the like, so please think of them especially in the next 24 hours. The clouds are rolling in, winds of 64km/hour are predicted and we are battening down the hatches. Thankful that we don't usually have this kind of weather but we are so desperate for the rain, that we will take it.
Praying you'll get the needed rain in the places it's needed and no flooding at your house. Stay safe Stefanie!
Stefanie, hoping and praying that the storm sends you much needed rain, but without devastation. Stay safe!
omgoodness... hoping you fare well, and thinking of all those in it's path! Ever since Hurricane Sandy, big huge storms of the century worry me more! Keep us posted, Stefanie!
Thanks all. Happy to report we are all safe and dry. the wind is still whipping the trees and howling around, the pool is quite full and will need to be backwashed soon. House has NO LEAKS! After January and April - this is the best news. The changes and drains we added are working and there is no more flooding. I haven't put the news on yet to see what else is happening.
