How would/do you build a wardrobe?

the app sounds great and is not expensive!!! I'm curious about the Thred Up thing...I wonder if we have anything like that here? we have top of the range clothes that are in perfect state but no health to go to the garage sales anymore..... it would be great if we could get credit to shop !!!

I'm really thinking we should go for the app... it looks like fun! And shouldn't be too overwhelming to set up since we'll be slowly adding items over the next few months, versus cataloging a closet full of clothes.

@MrsPeel I can't tell if ThredUp is US only, but I would assume that they are. I just found the payout estimator and it doesn't look like they pay too much, but given that we typically donate the whole lot, something is better than nothing, right? Plus it's motivation for Clara to keep purging items she's not wearing versus letting them rot in her closet. This first batch may have been a bad lot to gauge by though since it was all really cheap stuff, but honestly, I don't think I could have listed it for more at a garage sale and this has none of the hassles.

oh you should most def go for the app!!!! I will also suggest it to a friend of mine whose daughter has a similar problem... Sarita has a very defined taste, which is getting closer to my tastwe...when she was in her mid teens, we could not have been more different.. but now she is daring a bit more so she is using clothes that I used to wear but don't feel like is appropiate for my age... like some leopard print leggings, that I was wearing 20n years ago!!! so I don't have much need for the app...LOL

As for the Thred Up yes, they are USA only, it pop up a notice that they noticed am in the Uk, I left my email in case they venture this way...then I found a tons of similar sites, is more like sites like Ebay that sell your clothes and keep a percentage... but I think most are USA ... there is one they send you the mailing label...that would be great if I could find something like that here... I know I could go for ebay or GumTree, but I dontr have the stamina to take photos, and then I don;t much trust ebay or even Amazon as I have heard of lot of people who sent the stuff but the buyer notified paypal saying they never got the item...and you dont get your money :( I'm a bit slow for things like that :(
but anyway I ll keep asking, I am sure that there has to be something of the sort around here!:)

I hope we will see the scrapbook pages about all this shopping adventure?

After reading this whole thread, I can only say one thing----been there, done that, with 3 daughters with totally different tastes, and am SOOOOO glad they are all grown and now with pre-teens and teens of their own. Now I can sit back and smile!!! Ohhh, and now I am St. Vincent's favorite customer, and have I ever found some great designer clothes there!!!!!
