I was spending way too much. Between books, art supplies and TLP, I was flat broke.I read really fast, so it doesn't make much sense for me to buy books unless they are on sale because it can add up to a scary number pretty quickly. Now I might average $10 a month on books. I am an Amazon Prime member, so we get a free book every month. They usually give you four to choose from, and most of the time, there are at least two that sound interesting. My daughter also has a Prime account, so we agree on which books we'll buy and swap later. I just bought a couple of writing books for my kindle (this week) and a couple of artsy-type books that don't translate well to e-book. Some books I have had to buy because I needed them for school or didn't want to wait. Or they don't have them in the libraries. But lately, I've been using the libraries like a pro. I have the county and city library cards, and both of them also have e-libraries, so I stock my lists. Like Cynthia, I have pain and fatigue issues, so e-books are handy, but I will get hard cover books from the library. But the big fat Stephen King books (Under the Dome, It, etc.) I have to read on my kindle now because I just can't hang on to them for any length of time. I feel so wimpy sometimes. But it is also far more convenient when you are traveling or waiting in an office or whatnot. I also had to get a new Kindle (Jessica got it for me for Mother's Day) because mine was old, and I'd actually worn out the page turning button.

ohhh I hear you aboiut the hard cover....I feel more than wimpy... I have some attacks some days (as Trista , poor girl, has had to listen to me so many times) when I feel useless.... can;t hold the books, can't cook on my own anymore....can't walk or stand up much.... I have found here so many people who have issues like ours, who understand so much what we go through....is such a blessing...
plus the people who don't, but still make you feel so much better...
I always say to my family that scrapbooking literally saved my life....some of you are to me as important as some of my family or my friends I have had for almost 40 years....
so now I try to keep time to come be around...I always feel better after being around, I was feeling so so bad yesterday...went to the chat.... was great, slept, (got woken up by the postman, who didn't have anything for us...but likes the number of our door I think!!!! LOL)
Have you ever published anything Kim? I know you write?
