I'm so happy I'm not alone. I thought I was the only addict out there. Maybe we should start a help group lol.
I'm too afraid to look. I know it's over 1000. Maybe closer to 2000. I've converted templates for a share of designers, so I've a lot. I figure I can't know, because if I did know I wouldn't "have" a need to purchase any more, right????
My folder says that I have 5,122 templates, but that doesn't count the ones that are in my downloads folder that have not been released yet. I think this is what happens when you CT for the best template designer, and when all the designers you CT for also make their own templates.
Okay, I'm in shock. I have 6392 templates in my overall template folder plus I know that I have several project books on my computer that contain templates saved in a different location. Between the ones I've purchased & the fact that I've been converting to page files for a number of designers for a number of years, I've just never added them all up before!
I cannot believe it! 2742 templates plus probably a few stray ones. I think I need to purge my stash.
I was trying to! I was amazed to see that of all the templates I have, very very very few were close enough that I could bear to part with! Lol!
I had to go count them all - 3,007. That's a lot of templates, and I hardly use the majority of them!
:O I was on a creative team for a year where templates were not allowed. I loved that challenge most of the time. As my life got busier, I really wanted to use them, but almost felt like I was cheating. I finally let that go, and now I use them all the time. I just decided that I like to scrap, and since it helps me get through more memories, I own it now. Lol. My workflow is deciding photos, then template that is designed to fit my photos... I have so many and love them so much, I don't bother changing them a lot of the time!
In the first page I could see only 3 digits numbers so I hesitate posting here but as I read along I finally could see 4 digits numbers so here I come out! I am a template hoarder and even if I don't scrap as often as I used to I keep byuing and grabbing freebies... I lost some I think in 1 or 2 HD crash but managed to get back some... Now I am at 4000+ I just don't want to stress anymore about a design. I like to showcase my photos and playing around with papers and elements so I NEED them. I like to edit them to my needs too. Anyway. I am glad I am not the only one lol
All the templates are belong to me! I'm kind of embarrassed to admit this, but ... according to my Lightroom database, I have over 7,500 template files. Narrowing it down to just Lilypad Designers, I own over 1,600 of theirs, including 445 from Scrapping With Liz, 358 from Just Jaimee, and 177 from Fiddle Dee Dee. Hi, my name is Angie, and I'm a supply hoarder.
I converted templates to .page for different designers over the years, that's why I have so many. I just never knew how many! eek! Besides, I love scrapping with templates, and I agree with your statement. If I want to make a quilt, I can either a) use a pattern and get started right away, or b) design my own pattern and sit there for ages trying to figure out what to do. I'm not a designer, so I always choose option A. I am more than happy to start with someone else's idea then make it my own. I scrap a whole lot faster with templates, and with the amount of photos I take every year it is a good thing! And I have no problem modifying a template, either. Sometimes I use them as a starting point, and the finished page looks nothing like the template when I'm done. It's part of the journey. After years of digi-scrapping I'm finding that I'm settling into my own style, even if it doesn't mesh with scrapping style du jour. I'm trying to do more pages without templates, and doing challenges has been helping out a lot in that area. I'm also growing to love the pocket scrapping style, which is easier to make up as you go along. I've also had to learn to let go and not try to be a scrapper that I'm not. Single photo pages? Ack. I always change them to multi-photo if it was done for a challenge. And I'm sure you grew leaps and bounds in your scrapping having to scrap without templates!
All I know is that I'm never sharing with my husband how many templates I have or how many digital kits I have.
