How many have you read this year?

I have been keeping track on my blog and I am up to 23 (5 of which are 800+ pages per book). I am impressed with myself. I don't know if I have ever read this much in my life. :wooot
 
Wow! You're doing great! Me and the kids go to the library just about every two weeks, so I read at least one book every time I go. Sometimes 2. My guess is that I've read close to 30, including our storytime novels that I read to the kids. I should keep track, that's a really great idea! If I like it I add it to my GoodReads account, but if I don't I always forget to post it.
 
Well I guess I've read so far 7 , I'm reading the Vampire Lestat and I've just purchased Dead Until Dark (The Sookie Stackhouse Series). I'm so into Vamps right now :D
 
I've read about ten or so. I started the Outlander series but got stuck on the second book and didn't finish it - it was dragging! Anyone who has read it - does it get better? I was bored with the historical stuff.
 
I'm on my 14th book of the year :) I've heard that the Outlander series is amazing! I haven't read it for the same reason, I'm afraid of the historical stuff. I'm reading Dreamquake now :)
 
I can't tell you how many... quite a few... I really got into Sarah Addison Allen. I've read 3 of hers. I've read the Time Traveler's Wife (mixed emotions). The Twilight books I've read this year, the Devil Wears Prada, Bridget Jones Diary, Shopgirl, and a few that I couldn't get past the first few chapters.

I loved the Outlander series, until the Drums of Autumn... then I got bored. But that Jamie... *sigh*

Anne Rice's vampires ROCK! Read through them all years ago, but her best work EVER (imo) has to be "the Witching Hour" OMG! That was a fabulous book! The sequels sucked but WH was a can't put down read.

So you like the action and Jaime and Claire together then? It comes back later in the book.
 
I up to 20 so far. Funny you asked, because this is the first time I've kept track. This of course doesn't count the 3-5 books I read to my boys every night. Our story time is out of control... but I love that they love it, so I'm not stopping! :)

Tania... what's this GoodReads account? I'm going to have to google this!
 
I've read 30 so far this year, last year was 42, so I am trying to beat that.

Good reads like you keep track of books you read, read reviews and share lists with friends... so you can get recommendations.
 
It's like Facebook just for books Karen, sooo fun! My user name there is taniashaw. I only have three friends there, so if anyone has an account and wants to hook up, look me up :)
 
I've read 30 so far this year. I have trouble balancing reading and designing. If I'm designing, I don't touch a book...when I'm reading I don't touch photoshop. It's so weird!

Love that book too. I read it years ago (like 20) and keep meaning to read it again...

yes, it gets better. I have read 5 of them now and I loved them all. You should pick it up again.

I have that problem too. I find that once I stop reading for a few days I get so many more layouts completed.
 
I don't keep track, but generally 1-2 a week. Library trips are part of my weekly routine. :)
 
There's a cool Facebook apps too, called Visual Bookshelf, you can add you books, read reviews, give notes...it's a great way to keep track of your books!!

and all your FB friends can see and whatever...LOL
 
Found ya on GoodReads Tania! I like it! Great place to keep track of the books I get recommended... but as for me reviewing books, I'm not so great... I like it or it was boring is about as creative as I'm probably going to get! :)
