How do you organize your scrapping...

I use a free script from Christy Vanderwall called Supply tracker for my product list. It also puts this info in the metadata so I can find it as "info" in Finder (mac) as well as in PS. Then I do have to find the products and copy/paste the links into the description when uploading.

Evernote is my go-to choice here. I copy the regular credits from the script, the ones with full links and then I make different lists from those depending on where I can link and not based on where the layout is posted. I might have 4 or 5 little credit lists for a layout so Evernote comes in handy. I also copy the links where I posted that particular layout in there so I can copy and paste for the designers.

I am usually working with current product so it stays in my downloads folder until I post my page then it gets moved to my EHD. When I am listing my credits I just open my downloads folder and I can see what all I used.

I have also, in the past, wrote credits out on an index card as I go (but I find they get lost or stollen by little hands) or have listed them in the description section of the "file info" as I go then when I am ready to post my page I can just copy and paste from there.

I drag my stuff from bridge onto my LO in ps as a smart object. That way the layer gets named the original file name automatically.

I drag from Finder/Explorer too but I don't feel like that fully answers the question, at least for me. I go through the layers at the end to make sure I don't forget anything, but I put kit names and designers in the metadata so I can C&P them for galleries. Sometimes I forget to do this if I'm just using one kit but for lots of bits and pieces I am pretty good about doing it.

I'm pretty sure going through the layers at the end is a given.

I can't seem to copy & paste from my metadata. Maybe I'm doing it wrong?

Sometimes I use Anna Forrest's script, but it's a little fussy sometimes. I've used notepad sometimes as I work, and that is okay. Mostly tho, I go back & forth from the PSE layers to the gallery entry, then go through the store and get the URL for each kit/item, etc. I have yet to come up with a decent, painless solution to keeping track. :(

I usually scrap with CT goodies so I stick to the new goodies and I can remember what I used, then add it to my text file where I have a "template" of credits with html style but, if I mix a lot for a challenge, I change the layer name with the kit and designer when I include it to my PSD. I even do it sometimes for fonts if they are not ones I use all the time. I edit the layer name and I can go back any time to check what it was.

I will rename the background layer to the name of the template when I use one. That way when I save my page, I don't lose that info. I also will rename a journal/text layer with the name of the font. It helps when figuring it out. In PSE11, as long as I drag the item up from the project bin it will retain the name the designer gave it. So all my layers end up named with the product.

What is this script that you are all talking about? Is it expensive? Where could I get it? I am having trouble keeping track of what I use!

Do a search for AnnaForestDesigns on Etsy. You'll find it there. It's a Credit Tracker script.

I actually use a free one with PSE from speedscripts. She has a file save I love too.

For templates and other PSD files like frames with clipping masks, I open them separately rather than drag them into PS from Bridge. I select all the layers, make them a group, and then name it with the template's name. Then I drag it on to a new canvas (hold the shift button and it'll center it on the page). If I don't move it to a new canvas, I'm more likely to accidentally save over it when I'm done.
