How do you organize your scrapping...

So when you are scrapping, how do you organize everything you're using so you remember to give credit to the designers? Do you keep what you're using opened (after you've added it to your page), do you write it down, what do you do? I feel that my space gets so bombarded with products that I'm worried I'll leave something out and when I minimize the elements (I use a MAC), it makes my toolbar shrink to fit everything so that gets annoying.
 
I drag my stuff from bridge onto my LO in ps as a smart object. That way the layer gets named the original file name automatically.
 
I add the info in a text file as I am making the page. I used to add the info to a note within Photoshop, but it's a lot easier to just open notepad for me.
 
I keep a list of things I'm using, usually on a spreadsheet. I have a big list with all the stuff I want to use and kits I haven't used so I just keep track of stuff on there.
 
I open notepad to type the product kit/name and then copy and paste when uploading. I tried using a script for the info but it kept getting corrupted so I gave up. Notepad is easy and only takes me a minute to type it all in.
 
I also use the script from Anna sometimes... it does make CS run really slow for me, so at times I turn it off. I usually add a credits list to One Note as I am adding items to the page. Since I drag and drop onto the layout the names stay the same as the designer's have named them. I glance back through the layers before I save to be sure I didn't miss anything.
 
I try and stick to one template and one kit - makes it easier.
If not I copy and paste the folder images into the file that I will save the layout into, so they're all together when I upload to galleries.
 
I use a mac and I leave open the kit's folder that I use in the finder panels (only 1 window for all the folders)
 
I jot it down in a pad while I'm scrapping, I always have a pen and pad handy and post it notes too x
 
I use a combo - drag and drop the layers so the filename remains, if I clip anything and just use part, I leave the original open on PS, leave my finder windows with each kit open, and have a list next to the keyboard - I handwrite the kit names as I close my tabs. (When I post the page, I copy the (linked) kit info from the gallery credits to a text file.)
 
2 things really help me:

1. 2 monitors. I keep multiple file explorers open on the 2nd monitor and Photoshop on the 1st monitor.
2. I keep a Word Doc open and add to it as I go. Sometimes I forget and do it all at the end, but with my many file explorers open it's pretty easy to go back and type out what I used and then I close the file explorers as I go.
 
I work on a PC and use ACDSee to locate my files. While working in Photoshop,I'll add elements as Smart Objects or I will leave one file open & minimized from each kit that I use. When I'm finished, I type the kit names into Evernote. This works great unless the power goes off in the middle. lol
 
I'm mostly a kit scrapper, so I'm fine until I do Art Journaling. In that case, I just copy the credits from Gimp, which opens each item on a separate layer- and in most cases, the relevant information is in the file name ;).

Oh to have 2 monitors..... #jealous
 
I drag from Bridge as smart object so I can keep the names intact. I'm too lazy to write them down elsewhere. :-)

I do this, also. It is the easiest method for me. That said, if I'm using more than one or two kits, I'll jot it down on one of the many notebooks I have covering my desk.
 
two monitors here too...
I have CS opened with TIFF file and layers palette
I go down the layers (delete hidden)
and write my credits in the gallery as I am uploading. If it is a new product (I link) usually just give credit of designer and kit. Cut and copy for my drive by postings to DST and MSA...lol
 
so old fashioned, but I jot it down on a pad of paper while I'm working on it! Love everyone's ideas though!
