I don't see an option to delete my old siggy in Edit Signature. I uploaded a new siggy and tried to insert it by clicking on the Image icon but it did not delete the old siggy and added an underneath the old siggy.
@DigiGrace Grace, just follow these steps to get rid of your old siggy. Make sure you have your new siggy uploaded to the gallery first. Steps 1 & 2 - In the Signature dialogue box, highlight your siggy. A black box will appear, I normally just close this. You will then see the siggy highlighted in blue, just go ahead and press the delete key. Step 3 - Go to the gallery, grab the BB Code and simply paste it into your signature dialogue box.......... no need to use any icons with a mountain first. Hope that helps sweets, if not just tag me!
Ona, thank you very much for your detailed instructions and screenshots. I couldn't highlight my old siggy to delete so I "cut" it and then pasted the BB Code into the signature dialogue box. I still have the
I have two thoughts about the code. The first, if I can't get my siggie to highlight, then I press the BB Code Editor button (Yellow in the screen shot below): [ATTACH=full]284551[/ATTACH] That changes the screen to this, which makes it easy to select anything and delete it: [ATTACH=full]284552[/ATTACH] To get back to the normal screen, just press the highlight link above. My second thought: Is it possible the code you are pasting somehow has an extra [IMG] on it? You should see it in the Rich Text Editor. Or, you could delete everything in the BB Code Editor. Then go back to rich text editor and post your siggie again. See if the IMG is still there.
@bestcee Courtney I can't see the attachment for your post above? I am interested in learning new ways too!
Ona and Courtney, thank you very much. I clicked the BB Code Editor button and deleted everything and then pasted in the BB code for the signature.
Love your pretty new siggie Grace! Glad you got it figured out! I had the same problem recently where I couldn't see the extra image when I went to edit my signature, but I finally got it deleted and fixed too! It's good to be stubborn sometimes.
@wombat146 Here's the second try on the images. Here's where you can switch to the BB Code Editor: Here's what it looks like, and at the bottom you can switch back to the Rich Text Editor.
Karen, I'm glad that you were able to fix the same problem when you edited your signature. Love your new beautiful siggie. Thank you for the nice comment on my new siggie.
Courtney, thank you for the screenshots. The screenshots will be very helpful for members when they edit their signatures.
Oh see THAT would have been super helpful for me too when I was struggling around with mine too! I'll tuck that tip in my memory banks for next time.... you know like in 3 years when I finally decide to update my siggie again. Thanks for the screen shots Courtney!
Great help Courtney! I've screenshot both of your posts as Siggie 1 & Siggie 2 and into my tutorial file.
