Highs & Lows of the week

Highs: The Polly's know this but for the past 8-9 months, my mum & I have been battling losing our house due to financial issues. Long story short but with some incredible legal assistance & family support, as of this coming Monday we will be mortgage free!
Personal high has been I've had the mental capacity to revamp my resume and apply to two jobs this week. My resume hadn't been getting as many results as I'd have hoped so hopefully revamping it will help.

Low: Fatigue....it's been kicking my rear lately & probably contributing to the lack of mojo I have at the moment.

@littlekiwi glad the house is settled and mortgage free for you and your Mum, now, Jennifer. That is a huge weight off your shoulders. Good luck with the resume and job apps!

Mortgage free is wonderful Jennifer! Congratulations!

Low: Watching my daughter never get passed to in her last basketball game was very frustrating.

High: I got a whole bunch of laundry done yesterday.

High: Seeing family I haven't seen for awhile

Low: Reason for seeing the family is that a cousin passed away and saw the family at the visitation.

Highs: I finished my last IEP for this school year and now we can just learn not worry as much about paperwork. There's still some, but not as much and no meetings! Also, the warm weather this week has me in such a better mood. Between that and the time change, my spirits are lifting!! We also celebrated my mom's 87th birthday :)

Lows: I've been really tired this week, but I'm going to try to fix that this weekend.

Highs: Warm weather. Sunshine. Making Art. Eating at home a tiny bit more.

Lows: Overwhelmed/Overstimulated mom mode means less patience for my kids just being kids. Missing my sister living closer. Reading old messages that make me feel worthless. Mean brain basically.

Jennifer, I'm so glad to hear you'll be mortgage free, what a relief!! :heartlub

Low: My FIL was life-flighted to an ICU and ultimately moved to Oncology (new diagnosis). There have been a lot of setbacks, but we are hopeful he can go home soon and start treatment. I'm also going through a re-org at work and while I've received some positive indications that both my teams and I will be fine, it's weighing very heavily on me that there is so much job insecurity in our country ... and also, my furnace gave out, a diamond fell out and was lost from my engagement ring and my son's car won't start ... there is more, but I will leave it at that! Someone send me some hugs!!!!

High: I got a huge bonus at work (bitter sweet considering the re-org. I get to see a good friend this week and I got a lot of errands knocked out this weekend :heartlub

That's great news about the mortgage Jennifer and good luck on the two job applications!

@umyesh sorry they weren't passing the ball to your daughter... grrr... I would totally pass the ball to her.. so put me in there! :giggle Yay for the laundry! That's never the most exciting chore, but it sure feels good when it's done!

@HavaDrPepper Sorry for your loss, but I'm glad you were able to see a bunch of family

@IntenseMagic Yahoo for finishing meetings and IEPs! I hope the rest of the school year is nice and smooth for ya! Hope you got some good sleep this weekend!

@EHStudios Sorry you're missing your sister... whatever those messages are that you were re-reading... delete them and save some happy and positive ones instead! Take a nap and know that you're an amazing Mom. It's okay for kids to see that we aren't perfect too, makes them realize they don't have to be either. :heartslub I love that you've been able to get outside with them lots lately too!

@SeattleSheri Oh my goodness! You sure have a lot on your plate! I hope your FIL is feeling better soon and can receive effective treatments to help him back to wellness! Furnace and diamond and car!!! Oh MY! And on top of that the work re-org sounds so stressful. The emotional upheaval is so hard, even if you're probably safe, it still means changes and probably more work and stress for those who are left. I hope that at the end of it all, it can be the start of positive changes for you!

My high is that I spent a weekend scrapbooking with my IRL friend. We hole up in my basement craft room in our jammies and scrapbooking all weekend. I only had 8 pages to do and I'm caught up again, so I was able to do a bunch of art projects and even a small sewing project for my hubby. It was nice and relaxing and wonderful.

My low - it's Monday again. :rofl

@littlekiwi Yay for being mortgage free!

@umyesh Sorry your daughter didn't get the ball passed to her. I remember my son not even being played in a playoff volleyball game because the coach kept putting in her not-so-athletic son over my son in the game. It was so frustrating. I wasn't the only parent angry about it.

@HavaDrPepper So sorry for your loss.

@IntenseMagic Yay for finishing IEPs (I had to look that up!).

@EHStudios Sorry you are missing your sister.

@SeattleSheri Sorry you have so many lows on your plate. Sending you hugs!

@Karen Yay for a scrapbooking weekend!!

My High: Celebrated 36 years with dh this week. Had a big family dinner in honour of that on Sunday so got to spend time with my parents, sisters, BIL, sons, one son's girlfriend, and hubbie (of course).

My Low: work has been stressful for me lately and I'm in a state of limbo, so not really sure how it will all play out.

I missed this last week but my son came home from university for Spring Break which was a definite high for the week.

The low is that my doggy has congestive heart failure and she is slowly fading. Not an emergency yet but it is hard to watch and not be able to do much for her.

@umyesh Sorry your daughter didn't get the ball, always sucks when they don't get to play

@HavaDrPepper So sorry for your loss.

@IntenseMagic Yay for finishing IEPs and to better weather!

@EHStudios DELETE those old messages stat!!!!!

@SeattleSheri Sending you BIG hugs, lots of lows are no fun. Sending prayers for your dad too.

@Karen Scrapbooking weekend with a bestie??? WOW sounds fun!!!

@HeatherB Congrats on 36 yrs!!!!!! WOW

@dawnmarch Sending hugs about your pup. They are our family so I know that's gotta be hard.

Highs: no new news to report....I'll take it.

Lows: Monday at work :banghead has been brutal.

Good news, Jennifer! Glad to hear it.

My high - got a big jewelry supply order and got it all organized and put away. Now I can get back to designing with it all. Also, at game day today I won all the euchre games except the last one.

My low - our friend got injured on the ski slope last week and ended up in the hospital with a lacerated kidney. Now today they discovered he has a big mass in that kidney, most like cancer so he has a rough time ahead of him. My heart aches for him and his wife. The silver lining about it all is that without the injury, who knows when they would have found the mass. Hopefully it'll be treatable. We are waiting to get an update tonight after more tests today.
