Hi guys! I need some help. I use the most current PSE and have been saving my pages for the web at 600 x 600 to upload to the gallery. The pictures seem less sharp when I do it this way. Is there a better way out there? Thanks for any ideas!

I've recently switched to saving at 800 x 800 and using the action Lisa mentioned above by Paislee Press. But, when I was doing 600 x 600, I wouldn't use the save for web for the same reason you mentioned. It seems to make images blurrier, so I would just do image resize, switch to 72 dpi and then 600 x 600 and save just with "file, save-as". That seemed to have better results.

I flatten for printing, save the full size JPG to print, then use the export function to resize and save for web that way.

I save for Web 600 x600 but I make it as high quality as I can make it and still stay within 250 kb. So sometimes it will be as high as 90. But it is still not ideal. I do think that here at the pad we can now use bigger images in the gallery.

Here are some old screenshots in PSE 2019 for the save for web. The screens are similar in PSE 2022.

After I have saved a layered .tif or .psd version, I right click on the background layer and merge visible. Then I save a full size jpg for printing with the save as command.

Next, I click on file > save for web to make my web sized jpg.

On the save for web screen I change the following:
    • width & height to (I now use 800 px)
    • make sure the image type is jpeg
    • make sure the quality is high or very high

Then, I click on the dropdown arrow with the 4 lines that's circled in the image above. I click on optimize to file size and this pop up appears.

I put in the desired file size (250) and click ok.

    Next, I click SAVE.
Add _web to my file name and click SAVE to save my web sized version jpg.

This is what works for me. Hope that helps you! :agree
