I am not a PSE scrapper but I do use PSE for saving to WEB. I got a free action for this from Fiddle Dee Dee designs and installed it today ( a first for me) Below are my two layouts, one like i usually save and one using the action. Would someone do me a favor and tell me if they see a difference between them and which one looks better for uploading to galleries? thanks so much for your help, i really appreciate your time.
I'm on a fairly large monitor at work, and at first I was going to say I didn't see any difference at all, but as I looked harder, I can see more texture/detail in the tag on the top version. Other than that, they're pretty close
On both my laptop and iMac, the top is WAY more crisp and clear. Sorry if that's not the answer you wanted. ETA: if I take my glasses off, they both look the same!
top one detail sharper on items such as flowers, tags, text, stitching. That looks like it might have had a sharpening action run on it
thanks ladies, yes, the top one is the result of the action from fiddle dee dee, guess I will be using it from now on.
Oh, that's awesome! The one that's easier is better. BONUS! ummm... what action is that again? I may need it.
@jenevang Cheryl's action is here: https://the-lilypad.com/Save-For-Web-Action-Digital-Scrapbook-Action.html I didn't think it made a difference until I was really looking at it one day @chigirl . The difference is subtle, but it's there!
I use one that was from a designer (retired) at a previous store I CT'd for and it was encouraged for CT members to use it to improve the detail and sharpness of elements on screen when promoting products. I think because I've been using one for so long now I immediately know where to look for the differences.
Sorry y'all ~ it was not visible but I've fixed that. If anyone else is looking for it, it's under Photoshop Tools or Free Products!
I really see it on the top one. The tag has so much more texture and detail than the bottom one. The paint too... where it overlaps the torn papers and layers. Looks pretty!
I, too, use Cheryl's action for almost all of my layouts. Sometimes, and primarily in other store galleries, it is "too sharp" for my liking. It works really well for almost all designers here at the pad, but some other stores/designers, or too much art journal on my layout, sometimes I have to go with the "old route" and I groan. Also. I have one from Paislee Press either from her blog or store. I don't remember why I don't use it often.... haha. I need to figure that out.
