The best thing your mom can do right now is eat healthy, get enough sleep, try not to stress out and wait for the treatment recommendation. I work for cardiologists, so when my mom's cardiac problems started at about age 55 I had a good understanding of it all, which helped alleviate my fears quite a bit. She had a quadruple bypass and valve replacement and was extremely healthy after that for many, many years. After rehab, she felt better than she had felt for over 10 years previous. I pray your mom gets treatment soon and is feeling better than ever.
I'm sorry your mom doesn't have an action plan in place by now...hopefully they can come up with one soon so your mom can get to feeling better! *hugs*
I pray that she gets a plan of action (treatment) soon. My dad also had a heart valve replaced with a valve from a pig. He got back a lot of energy too and is still going strong at 79. It seems like his was 10 years ago?? Hang in there and hugs!!
Hopefully you guys get some news on the treatment plan real soon. Sendning lots of thoughts and hugs hunnie xox
She already eats really healthy and is getting heaps of sleep so it’s just a matter of waiting. In my mums case it’s not that she’s done anything wrong but more our family history of heart issues.
just had her 2nd appt today. Diagnosis confirmed and further testing is planned with open heart surgery planned for in up to 6 months time. While it’s great treatment has been put in place, it is disappointing that it’s going to be such a long wait for the treatment given how awful she feels now - just this week she went out for a few hours on Friday afternoon, worked 11.30am til 8.45pm Saturday, lasted less than 2 hours at work out of 8-9 hours on Sunday night, was off sick on Monday and had her rostered day off today so basically paid for her low impact activity on Friday by needing a day and a half off from work
Oh gosh Jennifer. I am so sorry that she has to wait so long. Maybe she can be placed on a list in case of openings that she can be seen sooner. So hard to work and take care of things when it makes her so tired. Continued prayers that they can fit her in sooner so she will be on the road to recovery. Hugs and prayers for you too. I know how you feel when it is your parent who is sick. I was there for both of mine. Big Hugs.
She has asked to be on the cancellation list but until she has the other two tests she can’t have the surgery. I think the worst bit of it all was when the specialist said oh no fatigue isn’t a symptom of heart valve issues which contradicted everything that is online saying it can be one of the symptoms of heart valve issues.
