I had a neighbor (luckily she's past tense now) who used to dump her three kids on us from 5-10pm several/many times on weeknights. Her kids wouldn't know when she'd be back. I found out years later that she owned two fruit carts that she'd take into LA in the evenings. At least, that's what I think she & her husband were doing. It was really disruptive, since I had a hard enough time getting my own kids to bed at a decent hour AND she NEVER asked. I wouldn't say she caused me a nervous breakdown, but seriously, it did get to the point where I'd start shaking if her kids stayed past 6pm after that year or so. Gah, I'm shaking now just thinking about it now, it made me so angry and tense!
And for heaven's sake. WHO go visiting after 10 pm?! That is seriously whack. I was taught that phone calls after 10pm were not good. And visitors leave before dinner, unless they're invited!
