Have a Seat | Pad Patter 11.9.23

I only scrap on my desktop these days. Dual monitors are the only way to go. I do have a laptop that I could scrap on but everything is too small.

As for my chair, it is what is called a "task chair", an office chair with no arms. It is old. I actually had a newer office chair with arms but I ended up hating that I could not push it under the desk. So I pulled out the old task chair that was in the basement and have been using it. I have looked for a different chair for awhile. I really want one that has folding arms so I could put them down if needed but put them up to push the chair under the desk. But these days, other things are priority so this chair will still suffice.

However, I wouldn't call it my best seat in my house. I have an old "chair and a half" in my bedroom that I kept for myself when we replaced it with a small sofa in the family room. It's shabby but with a few blankets and pillows it's my personal, private cozy spot where I sit to read or listen to podcasts when I want to be alone.

I used to have a La-z-boy reclining chair and a half. I loved that chair, unfortunately the back broke after years and years of use. I'm disappointed that La-z-boy no longer makes a reclining chair and a half ... maybe b/c they were hard to un-recline from ...

I have Artisan 5 on my work computer, my home desktop and my laptop, but mostly I work on my laptop at my dinette table or at a retreat/crop table. In the winter I plug a small electric heater in so I'm toasty warm.

I'm at a desk because I have a desktop computer and two monitors. I'm like @Karen - I need the screens to see things. I get frustrated checking TLP on my phone because it's so small.

We chatted about chairs a while back. Office Chair | Pad Patter 7.17 Although I have to say that now my chair is starting to wear and it's not as comfortable as it used to be. It's probably time to think about replacing it.

Most of the time, I am at my desk so that I have both monitors. I occasionally take the laptop in the living room if we're just hanging out watching tv or something.

We have a L shaped sofa and my seat is in the corner on the L section. I normally sit here to read, use my laptop and watch tv. The sofa is 9 years old now so the back cushion has dropped slightly but still my favourite seat in the house.

The sofa also pulls out to create a large sofa bed which is only reason I am reluctant to change it, the sofa bed is so handy when the son has friends stop over.

I'm a desktop scrapper, so I have to be at my desk to play. :agree Plus I love my two big monitors for my old lady eyes too, so again that means a desk for me. :agree
I should use big monitors for my old lady eyes…

I have two monitors set up but I just can’t bring myself to sit at a desk very long!

Your L shaped sofa sounds heavenly. I wish ours doubled as a sofa bed!
